If you read the specs for the chip you'd see that the triple the speed factor comes from the Mips, not the clock speed.
Aside from that, hell, I've been trying to find an investor for these guys. If we can get them going, not only will the chip rock, but it would be a hell of a profit.

Ok, I'm a KDE guy, I have it, I like it, it works, end of story. But who can tell me how to use WindowMaker with it. I love KDE's fm and panel, but I love WindowMaker(the only reason I'd hop to Gnome).
Any help?

You've just proven to me that there are such thing as stupid answers from stupid people. Damn, ya ask a question and fucking genious fiber engineer jumps down your throat for now knowing the specs of a fiber connection.
PDG--"I don't like the Prozac, the Prozac likes me"
Damn, its on an OC-64 Sonet network. Now, if that line runs past your house, what prevents you from tapping into the fiber and grabbing some bandwidth?

I'm stuck in the middle here. I started out with KDE and loved it, but it ate all my memory and etc. I jump over to Gnome and like that too, but its limited, until Gnome.99 came out, and that impossible to get working. Now KDE 1.1 is out and I can't find it. NOW Gnome.99.7 is out and I wonder which is becoming more of a nightmare.
It seems like KDE has their shit more together, but I hear that Gnome is easier on the hardware. Is this true?
Any reasons to use one versus the other?

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but are DVD players MPEG2? How difficult would it be to move that up to layer 3? The price of those players are coming down as it is, why not just meld the two together. They've always pushed the DVDs ability to play CDs. Why not take the step further and play MP3s too?
Mediaone claims that for their cable modem service, only 95/98 will be supported or installed on. When the guy came, I booted up a base 95 install and let the guy seem pleased. Their reasoning was that if they allow NT or other server based products, you can acheive the ability to mess around with their equipment. They really can't control it. I'm running Linuxes and NTs all over their network and not only that, I CAN screw with their network if I want to.
And to think only 2 months ago Ascend offered me a cushy job which included $20,000 worth of Ascend stock. I'm happy where I am but, ouch, that really hurts.
Well, if you're spending more than 4 years (even that can be too long) then you are wasting your time. Get your shit done, take your damn classes, learn how to deal with life, how to reseach, etc, and then get a job. Anyone who says that college is a waste of time for geeks isn't going to last very long. Yeah, sure, I'd like to see someone learn complex algebraic algorithm functions without school.
I just compiled my first 'pre' kernel last nite, and upon reboot, it says that I'm still in 2.1.132 yet when i uname -r it brings back 2.2.0pre6. Is this normal?
Also, anyone else have any problems with DHCP with 2.2?
The GS seems much too expensive but the other models are in the price-range. Mebbe they're playing the game where you start out at a super high price, and then offer a great deal with a discount 2 weeks later?
I'm in the east, why? Is 2:30 too early for stories?

Damn, what did you have to post this while I was at work. I think I creamed my shorts.

I'm looking at the "A Passage In Time" disc right here and there is NO mention of Ryko at all. Strictly 4AD.

Hey, I posted this one

Ok, from where I sit, going from 2.0 to 2.2 is categorized as a minor change. When do we get hit with 3.0? Lets shake this place up!!

What, are you some sort of sadist or something? If I wanted a brain hemmorage I'd ask my boss if I could 'restructure' all the code by tommorow.
This is just like the shutting down of Harmony Central which would allow people to post their transcripts of songs they had learned.
hmmmm . . . which is more important to me. Compiling the new kernel (which IS available) or running the DES client? Decisions, decisions, decision.

I used to write VB books too. Its gets REALLY mundane. I'm so sick of VB. Actually, I'm sick of everything M$
I'm first, get on line
Yep, thats a 10-4 good buddy
I checked all the mirrors, not to mention the MAIN download site and there is no mention of pre7 anywhere.

You're prolly right. I was just paraphrasing the article I read from the Hackers Internation News. My bad.
Nope, that didn't help at all, besides, it was working in 2.1.132.
I just manually entered the ip and mask and everything looks dandy.
