and further more, gloabl warming is supposed to be happening at the surface level. Why would the warm global warming water go down to the bottom of the ocean when there is plenty of cooler water in between?
If only we had no laws there could be no crime! Then wouldn't we be happy! Sure murders, assaults and rapes would go unpunished. But that's because there is nothing to punish because they're not crimes!
Oh how I wish it could be like that. When I was in high school, if someone walked up to me that I had never seen before and punched me in the face I would be suspended. That was the rule. That is what is so stupid about our system.
Laws leave room for self defense where schools do not. I was once jumped by 5 kids and somehow I was the one that got in trouble, oh yeah probably because I fought back.
If our system keeps on breeding people like this we're just going to have more columbines and more extreme violence. A couple kids getting in a fight might be bad but it's probably not as bad as letting them build up whatever hate they have before exploding.
Not really. Libraries may be public but they are still owned and operated by the government. Libraries are most certainly NOT owned by the federal government. If the County Commissioners or City Council then were to consider a rule like this they could make this argument, but the feds only are involved indirectly as a source of grants or other ancillary funding.
Good point but I didn't say that the federal gov owned libraries, just the government in general, which as you pointed out is, in this case, the city. That's where the rules should remain, with the local officials. There's no need to enforce policy on everyone.
As poorly stated as my point may have been what I'm trying to say is that libraries already do censor content, at least all my local libraries did growing up. What they censor is up to them.
adults have full rights and therefore this law would be unconstitutional
Not really. Libraries may be public but they are still owned and operated by the government. That means it's their call as to what goes on there. It's not violating your rights because you can still access whatever you want anywhere else.
Even if they somehow blocked a website for everyone it still wouldn't be a violation of your rights but rather the rights of the person running the website being blocked. Even that would be questionable because they aren't actually stopping you from saying something(freedom of speech intact) but they may as well be.
It remains to be seen whether or not the PS3 will catch on or not but the really success for sony may be the cell processor it self. It's been seeing use out side of gaming almost as much as it has in.
Wouldn't it be funny if Sony became a direct competitor to Intel and AMD? Next gen PCs could run on cell processors!
I don't really care as long as something gets us out of the x86 rut.
Pete Ashdown (a democrat and owner of an ISP of all things) posted a nice write up on net neutrality and the issues involved.
Net neutrality is hard to talk about because it has so many facets, one of them is passing traffic on. When we talk about ISPs allowing traffic to pass through their network because thats the fastest route thats net neutrality that I fight for. But when we talk about prioritizing traffic it's hard to argue that network owners shouldn't be able to regulate their traffic.
Ashdown points at spam as a big example, without being able to throttle down the connections being sent from spam networks the whole network would run slower. Plus X-Mission(Ashdown's ISP) focuses on gaming and so they pass on higher priority to gaming connections. The advantage to gamers is obvious.
Finally, if ISPs try to minimize bittorrent traffic, change the port you're using! The ISP will be none the wiser because bittorrent doesn't travel from a central network they have not other way of tracking it. Lots of clients do this. Or use your money to vote and change ISP for a less facist one.
I don't see any reason why this attack wouldn't work with a normal credit card machine (and not just the chip and pin cards). If you have hardware that has been tampered with the possibilities are endless really.
I personally wish that we did use the chip and pin cards in the US because it's better than signature. I usually sign for things with "PWNED" or I draw pictures of pacman or kung-fu stick figures and no one seems to notice. The security that comes with signatures is a joke.
If theres really all that space junk floating around how is global warming a problem? All that junk should be blocking the sun before it even reaches the atmosphere!
When I was at CES I remember seeing something for this. I'm trying to remember their name. Let's see, they had those hot girls wearing the revealing police uniforms... arg, I don't seem to remember much past that.
He's not only saving on his electric bill, he's also not paying for gas. Since his car runs off the same system. Obviously the total cost of 500,000 dollars is too high but imagine if it cost 80,000 bucks to install on a home. Wouldn't free gas and electricity be worth it?
On a side note, this is a unique solution to the problem with hydrogen powered cars (ie no gas stations)
Actually, and this isn't flame bait, I think it'd be cool if they made a game about Hitler's rise to power from the eyes of a supporter. It might help people understand what the environment was like for people and how they were deceived.
The vast majority of people had no idea of what was going on and what Hitler was doing. Even when everything was revealed many people didn't believe it because, for them, Hitler was a moral hero.
Though, I still wouldn't want the character acting as an executioner in a death camp.

I would but my core-duo can't handle processing 1000 animated gifs, 27 videos that start simultaneously and the 13 songs that also start at the same time.
I tried three times but my computer crashed everytime...
But, if you're still curious here is a write-up about myspace, both page design and the people behind it.
In my estimation, and maybe I'm crazy, you name the Democrats you don't have to name their party. So it looks like it's a GOP sponsored bill not a non-partisan effort from both parties.
Sure it makes the two dem's look bad but it makes the whole republican party look bad.
Full Disclosure: I do lean to the right.
Please, you can still find Wii's. The lady sounds like she did it because, surprise surpise, it was free! Everyone likes to win stuff. There would have been a similar result if they offered an xbox 360 or anything else.
Further more, Nintendo doesn't have anything to gain by making the Wii scarce. This isn't Debeers and Nintendo doesn't get any more money per unit because people are having a hard time finding it. The truth is that the Wii has been more successful than Nintendo imagined.
If you cater to the lowest common denominator you're only going to lower the standard. I'm not talking about the down trodden, I'm talking about behavior. If you treat people like idiots then they will be idiots. It's silly to expect businesses to look for such far reaching effects. It costs too much. Besides do you think Nintendo should have had a think tank saying "ok, what if the Wii is widely succesfull and then its hard to get that a radio station has a competition to give one away. Then, what if that competition is to drink water without urninating. Imagine, what if one person drinks so much water that they actually overdose and die of the stuff. I don't think we should release the Wii because that risk is way too high!"
This title is completely ridiculous. It's sensationalist and makes it look like someone died using the Wii. The womans death has nothing to do with a Wii, it could have been a competition for anything.
That's actually the reason why I don't watch any movies based on historical events because I'm positive that they couldn't have done it exactly as it occurred.::ducks::
Google, and other search engines for that matter, have more power to influence the selection, availability and immediacy of purchases in the way it sets the so-called algorithms for prioritising and selection of websites...
Way to point out the real truth. Google's "so-called algorithms" are in fact switch boards run by ferries, ferries with an agenda!
I would probably be ticket for this because it seems like people going 60 in the slow lane like to get into the fast lane where I'm doing 80 and I end up tail gating that person for at least a few seconds because I have to slow down to accommodate their jackass driving style. These people should expect to get tailgated because they cut me off.
Furthermore, speeding isn't what cause accidents, its people that go different speeds that cause problems. When someone goes 10 mph under the speed limit you are more likely to have an accident because everyone is trying to go the speed limit and finds themselves swerving out of the way to avoid hitting the slowpoke.
Finally, they should talk about tailgating in terms of feet not seconds. Its difficult for a driver to judge how many seconds there are between him and the person in front of him. Feet would be a lot easier to estimate.

Well..I guess creepy adults molest stupid kids.

I dunno but hopefully the subpoena will also be caught in the spam filter...and all the fines
Not really. Libraries may be public but they are still owned and operated by the government. That means it's their call as to what goes on there. It's not violating your rights because you can still access whatever you want anywhere else.

The 90nm was the first version and they started doing 65nm production. You can read about it on wikipedia's entry on cell processors
Wouldn't it be funny if Sony became a direct competitor to Intel and AMD? Next gen PCs could run on cell processors!
I don't really care as long as something gets us out of the x86 rut.
Maybe they're starting to learn their lesson now that they have real competition. It seems like Free is gaining a lot of ground in France.

Its the true story of Kevin Mitnick and as far as I can tell only showed what he had actually done.
Hackers 2 also goes by the title "Takedown"
Of course, Kevin Mitnick did social hacking more than computer hacking.
