    Hardware abstraction being one of the more compelling features IMO.

    How long you think it would take you to move all the services to that new server hardware you just received, because the current server hardware warranty just expired?

    Well, with VM's you can do that _A LOT_ faster.

    I think the big deal here is that they were able to create something that has an effectiveness greater than 0.

    I'm not an expert on the subject, but I guess it's easier to go up from 30% effective than from 0% effective.

    or configuring everyone's different laptop to work with that specific model of router (a nightmare with WiFi).

    First of all, I don't consider configuring WiFi a nightmare hell, and I work on IT, doing it frequently. It is one of the things that simply just work.

    Second of all, you would need to go through this nightmare for LAN play as well, unless you intend on hosting a lan party to play the game on single player?

    Agreed. That Monk trailer wasn't impressive at all.

    I'd rather have seen some gameplay videos from D3, which look a lot better than that trailer.

    That works on cellphones because the phone usually is very close to your body and the screen is small, thus it's hard for someone else to see the screen without you noticing it. Plus, cellphones have to work that way when one key is used for three or four different letters.

    That wouldn't work on regular computers, as the screen is big enough for someone behind you to read the password without you noticing.

    The problem was solved by new technologies invented, developed, an popularised by private individuals looking to either make a buck or solve a problem that they faced personally. Not by any committee of busybodies trying to save the world.
