At least now FOX provides the alternate "we need less government" viewpoint.

How? The last time I saw FOX News, they were talking about some racist that shimmied up a flag pole and ripped down a Mexican flag outside of a Mexican restaurant because it was flying above the American flag. They wanted laws in acted so that would be illegal to fly another country's flag higher than America's (this was a year ago, I don't live in America and only go back once a year).

To me, that's worse than trying to nationalize health care or social security or whatever beneficial program that they rave against. When I hear "less government" I always think it means getting rid of the nanny state (drug laws, forcing ID in science classes, making a law on how you have to fly your flags, keeping gay marriage illegal), unfortunately, the people spouting on about "less government" just want it out of the way so their greedy asses can rob people without being bothered (Enron et al.).

Give me someone that wants to get government out of my life, not out of my pocket.

You don't know how much I would actually LOVE LOVE LOVE to buy the movies I like on DVD. I don't because I CAN'T WATCH THEM! I'm an American (region 1) living in Japan (region 2). I travel enough between the two countries that no matter which region I buy, I'm screwed out of watching my legally purchased DVD. Sure, I could research into finding a portable DVD player that ignores region encoding, but that wouldn't change the fact that I'm buying an inferior product to me renting a DVD and stripping the encoding. I won't buy a DVD unless it's region free. I'd never rent and burn again if all DVDs were region free.

How old are you? The Smash Brothers series has been around for 10 years now. Personally, I think this is the best fighting game ever made. Your problem is you look at it like another Street fighter, who ever gets the other guy to 0% health first wins.
Smash brothers is more like king of the hill than a fighting game. You want to knock people off the hill. There's nothing screwy about the game, just you interpretation. You sound like a master chef who can't wrap his mind around sashimi "What?!? you don't cook the fish?! How can you not recognize there's something screwy about it?"
You should really try it sometime (smash brothers, that is. Unless you've also never had sashimi. You should try that, too). I don't like the new iterations as much, the levels are too violent and it takes away from the PvP. Find a N64, get the original Smash and see what you've been missing for 10 years

Is producing TV cheap? No, it's not. But instead of giving multi-million dollar contracts to stars, cancel them. Simon wants $1.4 million per show? Bye-bye. Friends want $750,000 per ep each? It was a nice run, have fun in your next ventures.

Because they are greedy. Why stop there? Why not insert the name of the restaurant into the text? Auto replace "restaurant" with "Chili's". Does the main character put on a coat? Why not make it an Armani coat? Does she take a sip of water? Spice up that water to your brand soft drink for a small fee! Why stop there? Let sponsors have characters "As Captain 'Pizza Hut' Ahab looked out over the sea, he saw her, Moby Dick, brought to you by Target."

Seriously, though if I wanted ads breaking up what I was reading, I'd buy a newspaper. But I don't so I'll never buy one of those books or a newspaper.

Worse than that, how will they expect SC2 to take over for SC1 in South Korean gaming competitions? Those things are a world of their own. Televised, groupies, real live gaming clans for training. When a 20 year old is considered "over the hill" because reaction time gets too slowed, forcing the games to go through Battlenet would kill the competitions.

The studies aren't flawless by any means. For example, in the cinema experiment, it would have been impossible to properly "blind" the researchers to the trials they were conducting - they must always have known whether the film on show was violent or not, and that could have biased their reactions as they timed the helpful behaviour of the film-goers. The delay in helping was also small (although statistically significant). The same applies to the first experiment's differences in whether recruits heard the fight or how serious they thought it was.

The link you had also didn't mention how they took into the causality and correlation aspects. It seems like it was there in with the tests of people going into the theater, but the link is just a summary and it's too hard to tell if it was really taken into account.
