I wholeheartedly agree. Some Mozilla manifesto was putting control over internet in your hands (i'm paraphrasing) and i thoutgh please get our control over Firefox back. UI changes (and css customization limitations) certificate handling, and few other things makes me a bit angry at mozilla. I used to be able with my limited CSS knowledge to put tabs beside the urlbar make them scale etc, make toolbar sort of floating and that it didnt takeup whole screen width etc. but now . i have almost no control over tabs positioning. I know it;s a rant but i really hate approach we know best no matter how much you scream. Versions, tabs positions, certificate handling, no seamless upgrade of sync function. I havent tried truecrypt under linux (the other drive) but my friend told me that i can practicly encrypt whole drive (except of /boot) i wonder if i'll be able to use the first drive under linux too. With compusec i've gone through partialy damadged disk ... half encrypted damadgetd boot loader etc and as long I had password and encryption keys (or in event of partial enctyption rememberd how far has it progressed) i was able to repair or recover my data. i have to read about some procedures of recovery in such cases on truecrypt... wich has way better documentation than compusec ;]

I agree with the slower writing but in spinning hdd's write speed is worse than read speed as for limited write cycles ... do your math and you'll see that SSD will live longer than spinning hdd's because of usage balancing (or whatever it's called) and the number of write cycles is quite big.. ill say that your laptop spinner will die sooner due to mechanical malfunction than ssd will run out of write cycles(espetiialy when laptop isnt handled nicly ;] ) even when using as a swap disk which sould be avoided as much as possible not only on SSD.

currently i think the barrier ic cost of it when it wil gain bigger share of the market it will get cheaper and gain even bigger share of the market... I'm not saying that HDD's will die soon (or ever) but let's see how the race goes as for performance , capacity and price.
