I use WinScroll (English version here). It might have problems if you have multiple desktops, I use a triple-head system that only presents a single, unified desktop to Windows.
And a badly managed one at that. Linden Labs fostered a strong community early on and now that community acts against expansion while Linden Labs' attempts to reduce their influence only appears to be bringing in more griefers. Also, the place looks like Golden Palace's marketing department threw up on it.
SL is only a marketing gimmick. You only do something in it so you can do a press release that says how futuristic you are.
Isn't this not so much a non-story, as a story fragement, or story-ette, that's too small (or too specfic) to expect anyone to make comments other movie and TV references? Sounds like Quickie-fodder to me.
I have two DVD players; a Sony PS2, which I hardly use anymore, and an Zensonic Z500, which is an embedded linux device (you can telnet into my DVD player!). I can't imagine either could cope with this stupid idea. So the disc would just go back as faulty.
The entertainment industry needs to realise it's the entertainment industry. I don't need to have anything to do with it, and if it makes life unpleasant, I won't.
It's a good thing we don't have a policy that requires that patches be thoroughly tested before deployment, or the next few weeks could have been really nasty.
Perhaps by doing this buying and selling, I can afford Xmas presents for *my* family?
Or perhaps you could do an honest days work, instead of being a lazy weasel trying to make a fast buck at someone else's expense.
What, you can't do both?
I'm hoping to get enough extra copies of the Collector's Edition of the World of Warcraft expansion Burning Crusade to pay for everything I've spent on the game so far.
I'll start to be mildly concerned when the $2 Shops (as they're called in Australia) cease to be able to fill their stores with cheap plastic crap from China. (However, my joy at seeing the end of the $2 Shops will no doubt overwhelm any worries about "peak oil".) We have lots of give in the consumption of oil through the manufacture of plastic -- so much stuff that's produced could simply stop being produced and the world wouldn't care.
I gave up on linux when the device drivers for one device needed a version of the kernel no later than X and the device drivers for a different device needed a version of the kernel at least as new as Y, where X was less than Y.
My "bad gaming session" is likely to be due to World of Warcraft. A quick three-game match of Bomberman on the DS is a good pick-me-up. Now I just have to get seven DS-enabled friends together in the one place to really take advantage of the DS version.
With rising medical costs, the coming collapse of (US) Social Security,
I'm in Australia, so health insurance isn't really an issue. My bank account gives moderate interest, I have some shares. Really, I'm quite comfortable.
That's a good point. I also do not drink, and neither do I have any strong desire to agrue for a pay rise. There are times when I feel that I'm paid too much and times when I feel that I'm paid too little, but on the whole I don't really know what to do with most of the money I'm paid anyway.
But I have noticed that my distaste for social events with a heavy emphasis on alcohol can put me behind the eight-ball when it comes to some office politics.
Please, please, please, if any Star Trek people who are still involved in the franchise read this, I want a TV series that picks up after the end of DS9, or Voyager if you must. A wonderful universe had been built, great factions, tension, political upheaval and technology. I don't care what happened before, I want to see the universe continue.
Actually, what Sony really needs to is shed its content divisions and go back to just producing kick-arse hardware with none of the crippled crap that's infected their stuff since the minidisc. OR they need to sell their hardware divisions to someone who still cares about making a good product, before the brand is completely ruined.
What they don't need to do is sell a bloated peice of DRM-infected junk for A$1,000 while the higher-profile members of their organisation effectly say "we could poop in a bag and you'd still buy it".
I'm fairly sure my new G WAP has the option to run in G-only mode. I wouldn't turn it on myself as I have two older devices that only support B. However, if you had all draft-N, you could turn off B/G for your WAP.
A house decked out in "pre-N" or "draft-N" stuff that isn't compatible with anything from any other manufacturers sounds like an excellent extra step in security. If you're out and about, most of this stuff will happily drop to G or B.
Is a PCI or AGP card an option, or does it need PCIe's throughput?
When the FAQ says not to run multiple video cards, is that a system limitation due to DirectX, or can you run an nVidia as your primary card and have an ATI 19xx series in, say, the second PCIe x16/8 slot?
(And for personal interest, is there a 19xx series card that's passively cooled?)
Basically, can I pickup a cheap X1900 and whack it into my PC just for Folding@Home?
Yup. With products like these, you can't trust that they'll continue to have the same features in the future. And with Sony, you know that if they want to downgrade your (their) product, they'll use some very underhand ways to get that update onto the device.

There is NO situation in which one of these USB batteries is better than a regular 2500mAh rechargable battery. Period.
That statement is obviously false. Not to mention more than a little ignorant.

Portable as that product might be (and I have something similar), it's still an extra thing I would rather not carry were I travelling.
P.S. Have you seen a Kodak C310? It's a toy. It weighs bugger all and you could power it for half an hour just by rubbing it vigourously on a convenient cat. No, these little trinkets are just the thing to compliment it.

I choose Windows.
(Also, seriously, a printer? How can 2000/XP possibly not have a compatible driver for a printer?)

One word: Willow.
Maybe it looks like I have more because I don't piss any of it away.

Is the "X1900GT" no good? I'm seeing that for A$350-ish.
Mod parent up.
