What do you get from your antenna that is worth the while?
Well let's see. For me it's: local news, some sporting events, and re-runs of shows I enjoy (Frasier, That '70s Show, etc). Paired with a MythTV backend and several Raspberry Pi front-ends running Kodi as the PVR front-end, it's a really enjoyable setup for free, over-the-air content.
...or just don't offer the convenience provided by computerized systems at all because suddenly it's too cost prohibitive to use them. No system is 100% secure, and eventually things like this will happen. Making the penalties so severe that it makes financial sense to simply not use these types of systems will ensure that dealing with these companies is way shittier than it it now.
Just treat it like it is: addiction. Offer recovery programs for it and those that have have a problem with it, and have had enough could find their own support groups to overcome it, much like how things currently work with those with substance abuse issues.
Because private companies can design and build actual spaceships, but it's literally impossible to lay a thin strip of asphalt on the ground without government!
Because the far-left operates more on raw emotion and sensationalism and less on rational thought. You bring up a well-thought-out and rational point, but they unfortunately won't hear any of it.
I was thinking about it earlier today and it occurred to me: what innovations on the internet have been furthered by anonymity? I can think of a huge number of bad-actors that are supported by it, from Credit Card thieves to hackers and even video game cheaters.
Well, for starters nobody will be banging on your door to beat your ass for this comment.
Getting large swaths of people to agree on anything, much less actually changing their ways, isn’t going to happen, and any plan that relies on that will fail miserably and shouldn’t even be considered as a viable option.
What’s ultimately going to save us from climate change are advances in technology (green renewable energy, electric vehicles, carbon capture devices, etc) that will allow people to largely preserve their current way of lives. Our focus should be on advancing these technologies and breaking the barriers that are currently making them difficult or impossible to implement.
Aside from Facebook, Reddit is where I like to get most of my fill of Internet Drama from the sidelines, specifically in/r/TwoXChromosomes. It's a popcorn-grabbing good time!

Just "upgraded" to a used iPhone SE for a fraction of the cost. One of the better decisions I've made as of late.
jump.net?
A car that prioritizes saving pedestrian lives at the expense of drivers? Yeah, what could possibly go wrong with that (see: protesters)...

Hmmm, you must be a big fan of toll roads then..

Not sure why you got downvoted, you're not incorrect...
They don't. They've just historically gotten themselves into debt trying to compete with Intel.

Seems to be doing just fine with their venture into 7nm land.
Intel is the hardware equivalent of old MS. Tread carefully ARM.

Google just better hope non of their shareholders have a problem with this, otherwise isn't going to an even more costly decision for them.
So, between this, Meltdown, and the handful of Spectre variant bugs, I guess it's safe to say that if you value security don't buy Intel.
You city slickers are cute.
Ever been to Goliad, TX?

A $60 million supercomputer and OU still sucks.
