I like how gaming console systems went from using split screens for 2 players, to networking multiple consoles so each person has his/her own screen. Now PCs are going from networking multiple PCs so each person has his/her own screen to sharing a single screen via splitscreens? Uh, as Bender would say "does not compute".
On a side note, if you work for a company that has to resort to using this type technology in order to be able to afford computers to satisfy the number employees working there, that's probably a good indicator that you need to be looking for employment elsewhere.
I hope Vonage burns in hell for the way they treat their customers. Anyone here ever tried to cancel their service successfully? Wait until you hear about the surprise $40 "cancellation fee" that they charge you per month after you've cancelled your service. Fuck Vonage. Fuck them in their VoIP asshole.
And yet another reason for me to be rich, so that in the event I ever do have kids I don't have to subject them to public schooling, AKA daycare for teens..
.NET can be compared to Java's bytecode. Basically, whenever one of the.NET languages gets compiled, it gets compiled into.NET code, which is then interpreted by the.NET CLR (common-language runtime), much like how Java's bytecode gets interpreted by the JVM when executed. The main difference between.NET and Java, however, is that.NET code can come from various high-level languates (C++, C#, Visual Basic, J#, etc), whereas Java bytecode only comes from one high-level language (Java). When libraries are compiled into.NET code, they can then be accessed by any other language in the.NET family. So, for example, one could write some libraries in C++, compile it into.NET code, then those libraries could be read by application written in say Visual Basic.
Yea...this coming from a company who's had a history of fudging their income statement numbers by taking revenues from a strong statement, hiding that sum somewhere, then appending it to statements with weak revenues in an attempt to fool their shareholders. As Cheif O'Hagen would say, "I'll believe it when my shit turns purple, and smells like rainbow sherbert".
WTF were they thinking building such a massive database-driven application with Access?? Jesus Christ. No wonder government jobs are so fucking easy to get.
With a T1 you get guranteed bandwidth, guranteed quality of service, and most importantly guranteed turnaround times when the service is interrupted for whatever reason. You do not get these gurantees with cable/DSL. This is why I always laugh when businesses run their entire office(s) off of cable/DSL connections and shit bricks when it drops and it takes 2-3 days to get it back online...you get the level of service that you pay for. Companies like to think they're saving money by going with a residential-grade broadband connection such as cable/DSL, then find out the hard way how much money they lose w/out a guranteed turnaround time, as is the case with a T1.
One can only hope Apple follows IBMs lead and bleeds this fucking company out in court, thus ruining them as a company and setting another legal precedent to help support abolishing bullshit patents that stifle innovation
I'm a US citizen and I couldn't be any happier with how the EU is sticking it to Microsoft. I wish the politicians over here weren't all in the same bed as MS and would stop letting them get away with whatever the fuck they want in order to get more rich. The US should follow the EU and put pressure on MS from all angles to stop abusing their monopoly...
What is the big f'ing deal with the whole "lack of women in the IT industry" fad? Why doesn't the hair salon industry get this much publicity for it's lack of men working in it?
Seriously, it's stupid. Women do what they're good at, and men do the same. Everyone meets in the middle eventually in executive and management land.
This is the problem with public schools. The principals view most of their students as trouble-making hoodlems, so when shit like this happens, they jump on the student like stink on shit..
Welp, this long-time AMD supporter is no more. Good thing I started earlier than planned and went for a Core 2 Duo-based laptop instead of a Turion X2...Granted I'm sure Intel will be rolling something similar out soon (if they havn't already). Via is starting to look more and more attractive as time rolls on...
What a HORRIBLE review done in TFA. It only compares games whose rendering engine is OpenGL (doom3 and enemy territory). I don't give a shit about how Cedega "emulates" OpenGL games. All it's doing is forwarding those requests unmodified (or maybe *slightly* modified) to the native OpenGL subsystem running on the Linux box. What I, and I'm assuming all others out there are concerned with, is gaming performance when Cedega is actually emulating Direc3D calls. Not only are there barely any game companies left that use OpenGL for their games, but the ones that do (ID Software, Epic) already have versions of their games for Linux. The fact that games utilizing Direc3D are omitted from the Cedega benchmarks listed in the article implies to me that it's probably not even worth the trouble of trying it out...

Does anyone know if this will affect employees at Tivoli?
Take that Eisner!

Lots of KY and usenet access.

so how long until the republicans start drilling for oil on it
This is exactly why we need patent reform.
Looks like shit's about to hit the fan for ol Jobs
Yay for legal precedent

I've had awesome luck with TW cable everywhere I've been. DSL on the other hand...never again.

Yea, I'm sure it makes a huge difference on your electric bill. You're saving what, like $2?
Get ready for more losses w/yalls DRM AMD..
Apple says Vista is irrelevant for business...
Step one, cut a hole in a box Step two, put your antenna in that box Step three, make her open the box Whoops, scratch that last step
