more about building strong enough air frames that can properly stretch and continue to act as load carrying structures. The SR-71's wing span stretched by more than a foot at cruising speeds nearing Mach 3. (and yes top speed was 3+)
And how do you store enough fuel? The SR-71 was forced to take off with 1/4 tank of fuel due to weight restrictions. It then had less then 5 minutes to find and hook up with a refueling aircraft, when it would completely top off it's tanks.
Another considerations is the human factor of both pilot skill and physical endurance to manage such a craft. At just Mach 3, a deviance of 1 or 2 degrees from flight plan will put you off course by a mile in about 1 second (literally).
An SR-71 required a minimum of 45 minutes of cool-down time after landing before any anything could be touched or any panels or outlets could be opened.
The SR-71 program discontinued for only one reason. Cost. Go figure.
Do you believe in anarchy too? Change is good, but changing too quickly can be much worse than changing slowly. Dismissing existing ethical beliefs is like destroying technilogical infrastructure. What happens when you suddenly need it later on?
Haven't there been stories posted on/. about consoles ending gaming on PC's, etc.?? And now this. It doesn't matter becuase there will always be advocates for both.
People will always buy consoles because they are cheap, they work, they're easy to use, and they are well marketed (generally).
Yet people will always buy PC's (and Mac's) because they do so much more.
Course, I might be wrong once you can/. from a game console!
Remember 'Stunts'? A game with crap graphics (even at the time), but limitless possibilities for replay. Remember King's Quest 1? A game so vastly different from any other, it was wholely intruiging.
Just because a game requires a $400 3D card and has some sweet looking still shots in a paid for magazine ad, doesn't make it a fun game.
You make a fun game by concentrating on what the player CAN do, not by developing the technology behind what happens as a result of the player's actions.
And cloning is just bad.
"Companies offer all the time Java-Applets for on-the-web calculations on the server side."
Umm, guy, that's still distribution. It's just distribution to servers first, then by random access to the terminal.
to avoid drive head contact with the disc platter.
I had nice car MP3 setup and the drive never skipped once (we tested the shit out of it on the first ride) let alone any damage. Of course we learned later that motherboards don't take nicely to falling screw drivers.
Anyone know where to find cheap LCD screens for car MP3's? I want a thin wide one, with dimenions of a car stereo face plate.
Cheers
... for your own private purposes, sure. But should it be legal to post reverse engineered software in public forums for all to grab? That's a form of distribution.
I think it's the distribution of IP that's bad, not the reverse engineering of it.
#include
is not pronounced 'sharp-include', that's for damn sure, and the # on your phone isn't a 'sharp' key.
C# should be pronounced 'C-pound'.
Unless you're an idot && you work at M$.
My class did the same a few years back, and I did an asteroids game. Another group did a Pool Ball simulator, and another did a great parser/calaculator that let you enter real mathematical functions (in real mathematical diction) and then plotted a response chart or answer. These were all cool and much fun. Very educational to write a complete application end to end.
... who does not understand the purpose and the power of these systems (networks, protocols, software, et al) is compromised by either narrowmindedness or naivety. This is a weakness that can not hold up in political forums. I submit we have nothing to fear.
Janeway do shit after the series finalie!

You mean 'rapidly accross the nation'.
That would be sonic boomS (plural).

Can't you just picture a gun totin' Bill Gates in the Wild West. Cause That's the American way. "Howdy partner, I'm a gonna buy you out."
Tech, Dev and Admin experience may not independently qualify as required or desirable management experience.

Yeah, run by NP, drinking FB, and eating HG.
Um, ya. I was kidding.
Don't you know?
A processor possessing a clock speed over 1 GHz is considered to so fast as to be virtual intelligent.
You know, cause it's just so fast it must be thinking for itself.

... It's getting better all the time. Maybe Philips and Apple should merge.
if you judge an OS GUI by it's swishy toolbar, and 32 bit analog clocks.

So then wouldn't you need 'superroot' to one up the power of root on each OS?
IBM released a new PC line called "Oranges". Of course they'd only come in one colour (Canadian spelling).
