    Ok, as much as I hate windows (only use it for gaming at non-wine-able stuff), you SHOULD be able to boot XP in about 30 seconds if you take all the crapware out. Unless you use a stripped down linux (command line only), you should still be able to get it to boot in less than a minute. Well, maybe not Vista...

    That depends on whether the 0.2% is "AvailableEnergy:output" or "AbsorbedEnergy:output". Normally we go by absorbed energy since anything not absorbed could potentially be used by another device (reflected, etc.)

    I'm not a Stanford student (never have been, probably never will be), but I would be PISSED if I paid good money for a course, then found out a bunch of people were taking it for free!

    Not only is it a financial piss-off, but it would lower the respect you would get for having taken the course.

    If you are looking for Ansi C syntax,check this out. I know it's aol.com, but the guy has one heck of a reference page. It's all on one page (print it if you like) and EVERYTHING is referenced with hyperlinks. You can find by name, function, "similar to", library, etc.

    There are no examples, but the documentation is top-notch.

    Yes, sending the data is very important, however I am sure that the sensors used to collect university data are not the same sensors that are used by the control system. Do what-ever you want with the data-collection sensors, but DO NOT connect the bloody control system to the internet. If an airplane can keep the entertainment system separate from the control system, I'm sure the greatest minds in the world can do the same.

    yes, yes, I remember the airplane story, no need to bring that up...

    I also live in Canada, and I think you actually missed the joke. The joke was meant to be read so as to explain that the BestBuy personnel are pretty good at AVOIDING customers, every time I go there, I have to find them (usually hiding 10' behind a counter looking at the corner of the wall) and then "interrupt" their silent moment in order to answer a question. Next thing I know, they're gone again!
