TFA talks about the rocket switching from first to 5th. I suppose If I were switching out of first at mach 3 I'd forego 2nd to 4th as well, but where are the other in-between gears?
No, autistic people cannot write text messages. Even the occasional deaf ones. For them, communication is extremely difficult and consist of hand and head motions no less than words (spoken or written/typed).
Even if we were to type their messages for them, what would we type? The parents (usually those on the other end of the video call) understand their children's motions. We don't, not always. And telling an autistic child "your father says..." has absolutly no value, they don't comprehend that the words originated from Dad. They've got to actually speak with him.
What's so surprising about Americans using non-standard procedures? 110 volt electricity, miles per hour speed measurement, Fahrenheit temperature scale,... should I go on? America has always distanced herself from international communities, standards, and practices.
Yes, we hold the phone for him. I've also got a Nokia 6280 with video calls. The video calls at 0.46 NIS/m are cheaper than regular phone calls at 0.67 NIS per minute. The boy is question is not only autistic but also mostly deaf.
What's interesting is watching young kids talk on the phone. Even on a non-video call they nod yes and no.
I've already seen sign language being used over video calls. Then again, as one who volunteers with autistic children, I've seen a lot of super-use of technology and hands...
Both my FC6 and Kubuntu boxes have beagle running in them. FC6 had it out of the box, and installing on Kubuntu was a simple apt-get operation. I'm using Kerry in KDE to access it.
What's wrong with mbox? I've been using it for years. Also, I've been trying to google the use of Unison for email, but I've found nothing concrete. Can you post an example?
Thanks.
Actually, I've found out that some of the last people I'd expect to see on the internet use Digg. Like, for instance, the 80+ year old librarian at my university. I couldn't believe it when I saw digg open on her machine, her with two gnarled fingers typing a comment at 3.1415 WPM. I've got to find out what her username is.
Is short, Digg's for everyone./. thankfully is not.
There are those who argue that similar interfaces make things simpler for users. I actually subscribe to that train of though. Though, it sucks when everybody is copying M$'s horrible interfaces. Doesn't pertain to the web, though.
Statistically, sex offenders have a very high commit-it-again rate.
Maybe they should just make sex legal, it everybody's doing it:) (it's what the people want)
Instead of merely blocking offenders, Ahearn said she would like to see a system in which e-mail addresses are also used to monitor what Web sites offenders visit.
That's going a wee bit too far, no? Who would be responsible for tracking them? The ISPs? The websites? Does she realize the technical problems behind that?
Would she suggest that sex offenders be tracked in the Real World?

What about reverse?

And Israel trains the FBI. How garbage rolls downhill...
If people rush to use the support voucher, then microvell will only be encouraged to do it again.
Maybe if they stop shining lasers at the ice it will stop melting.
No shit, Sherlok. Condoms have no effect on birth rates either.
There was more than a bit of humour in that comment. Sadly, this very last weekend I saw a blue Samsung turn brown...

Now we _know_ what Yahoo! engineers have been smoking...

Loser, I am. And replying to losers on /., does that make me better or worse?
PDF was never a standard in the sense of the word that one was encouraged to use it. Only open standards meet that requirement.
Before the astronauts were declared dead I was wondering where the monument would be. It _should_ be in space.

I wonder if these crazy trigonometry identities that I'm struggling to memorize are doing me more harm than good...
