I'm having a hard time determining who here has really tried the Zune, or who is just bashing for the sake of bashing.
I've had 3 iPods and 2 Zunes. The Zunes rock. The Zune pass rocks. It's a solid player that works great, feels great, and hasn't given me any real problems. Yeah, the Zune software is a little bloated, but anyone with a decent system shouldn't notice any problems (I routinely play games with it running with no issues).
I've had a Zune30 and a Zune80, and they've both been great. I was really excited to see the news today that there's another one coming out. My only real concern is the loss of the Zune pad. That thing works great (4 directions plus click? Yep, good idea.) Also, I'm one of the ones who hates fingerprints.
...isn't a good way to go.
All of you condemning Maxtor, and I've had 2 Maxtor 60GB IDE drives that I got for a cheap fileserver almost 6 years ago are still running fine today, and have been almost nonstop since being installed.
Not to keep repeating what has probably been said a few times already, but...
A lot of the people driving those clunkers (myself included) simply can't afford a new car.
Sure, it may eat a lot of gas, but it's my only way to commute to work. Don't get smart and say anything about public transportation or carpooling, because those options aren't viable where I live.
Either way, the money they're willing to give up isn't going to buy a new car. Down payment, maybe, but that goes back to the original problem: They can't afford a newer car in the first place.
This seems like a typical used-bandaid economic fix to me.
Ironic to read this weeks after I've been trying to figure out why my Blackberry will only get GPRS data connections in my hometown, right by a tower. *IF* it gets EDGE, it gets 1 or 2 bars. I've even tried multiple phones. Same thing.
I find it interesting that more people don't realize this. I'm tired of getting "USE SOMEONE ELSE" every time this issue comes up, and people simply do not realize that MANY smaller cities are literally stuck with Comcast until sometime towards the end of the second coming.
It was great when it was the only way my city could even get cable 30 years ago, but now it's a mess, and Comcast is raping us for it.
XP is damn near 9 years old. That's close enough to 10.
When laptops match or beat desktops in performance for price, then we'll have something to worry about.
I run three monitors, and still think it's a stupid idea. The LCD borders would drive me absolutely insane. Is that penis envy?
I know! How dare they include a browser with the OS that they made!

...you don't need a TV.

While we're at it, let's remove roads, you know, since they can also be used for illegal activity.
