  1. I wonder what would be the difference in overall pollution would show in a comparison between an electric vehicle charged by US mix of grid power (lets say 30% Coal 40% methane 15% Nuclear 15% hydro + renewables) and a vehicle powered bye a methane ICE (rare, but they do exist) .

    And of course walmart.com (and target.com) does deliver, and don't tell me that the AA batteries on amazon are any different than the ones you get at other sites

  3. I almost hate to say this, but walmart.com is coming on strong
    on a lot of common, and not so common items, it is price competitive with amazon, especially if you do the ship-to-store option

    I would doubt it very seriously. Yes this is a side effect, but many would not care. Women, men using it temporarily, men who simply would rather live with the side effect than remain in pain.
    As a side note, I think I remember reading some research that semi regular use of NSAIDs is actually linked to a lower risk of dementia

    There is no such thing, as a completely safe, non addicting, highly effective pain reliever. If such a thing is ever developed it would revolutionize medicine and make it's inventor billions.

    as big businesses mature there is natural tendency to gravitate towards large near-monopolies...

    You can see this is cars, aircraft, and lots of other stuff.. Social media, and the tech industry in general is inexorably falling into this pattern...

    Number of deaths per year from coal, considering deaths from mining, transporting, and respiratory and other issues related to burning / Number of Deaths attributible to a Chernobyl like incident (and again, with gen 3+ designs, a chernobyl per decade is a hysterical over estimate)

    And thats not even bring to bear the number of deaths and misery due to the effects of climate change, which are arguably already showing up, and will soon increase

    swapping coal for nuclear, which is entirely possible, will do more to stop this than any other technology can...

    And the US, despite having a major political party completely infected with the AGW denial lunacy has been doing well re: carbon
    That's mostly due to having more methane than we know what to do with, but still...

    The absolute best thing that could happen to the planet re: climate change (other than mass suicide I guess) would be massive, trillion dollar nuclear power plant construction campaigns carried out in europe, north america, and Asia.
    Even if we had another chernobyl ever decade (and there is no reason why we should), but even if, it would still be a net benefit...

    Viruses have been doing this for eons
    There has been work done on using viruses as a vector for gene editing post-embryo

    We have been drilling to that depth for awhile lately, and the temperature and pressure, while extreme, can be handled by modern materials and equipment.
    But not to make light, obviously this is on a scale and scope never tried before.

    We didn't have the technology to go to the moon, or build a hydrogen bomb, or a bunch of other things, until we did..

    The drilling plans I've seen is to come in at a very shallow angle. So shallow that the drills would actually start outside Yellowstone itself, intersecting with the magma chamber miles underground on its side.
    This is supposedly far less prone to cause destabilization risks..

    You don't know that it was true full auto

    It could have been that the shooter modified the gun with a bump fire stock or binary trigger.
    Both of the items are available over the counter, for less than 500$, with zero paperwork.
    Both will give near full auto rates of fire, albeit with less accuracy, but when you are spraying bullets into a crowd, that probably doesn't matter.
