Well thats great news. Since even if it is man made its not likely that we will do anything about it, or enough to make a difference. So lets just forget all the pointless bickering and start preparing for the coming changes.

  3. Re:blue? on BBC Wants Evidence of Climate Science Bias · · Score: 1

Yes but thats the problem. Things do change, and if you disturb the status quo, things can get very unhealthy for some people in certain geographical locations. The human race has been rather prolific and found many places in the world to live, it also has adapted to live in those conditions but these conditions can change and we are slow to react so this can cause a lot of problems for us. Global warming doesn't mean that the temperature will rise everywhere, the temperature will be higher in certain places which will cause changes in the climate, eventually these changes can lead to a chain reaction of events that might cause great shifts in the climate and catch most people unawares. Also i agree that this has nothing to do with the current president, or any president of US for the past couple of decades, well not directly. The argument is that the actions of humanity over the last couple of decades are the cause. And its rather easy to believe considering that massive amounts of forests are destroyed and large quantities of fossil fuels are burned. Human activities might have no effect at all, and we are just caught in a cycle, or maybe they do. This whole debate over global warming needs to answer the question of the cause, so then we can try to predict the progress of these changes and prepare for them. But that wont happen until its a couple of years to late.

Well, a good rpg then should probably try to change up the leveling system since its one of the most important parts of the game. And the length for an rpg would also be dependent on the storyline. A nicely written story with detailed plot and developed characters might make for a game much longer then 25+ hours. RPGs are not only about grinding levels.

  8. Re:Hmmm on EA Forms Wii-Centric Studio · · Score: 1

Yes Wii probably doesn't need to be as power full because of lower resolutions requirements, but for the same reason they will not look as good on an HD television (and i have no idea why anyone would get an xbox 360 or a ps3 if they dont have one). Oh and that comment about horsepower, way to be an anal-retentive, its the nature of the way people talk, horsepower refers to magnitude not the actual type of energy or force or effect. On to the controller. As you said the Wii can do something special with the controller and i don't see why the developers wouldn't want to take advantage of that, thats why a studio specifically for Wii makes sense. Also i don't think i remember the NES pad having two thumbsticks, or are you talking about the gamecube controller? Because you need two thumbsticks for the game to be ported properly. And configuring the controls for the Wii mote would either give the gamers an advantage in speed, or force the hud/aim/whatever to move at the rate similar to other consoles and make it feel rather unnatural

  9. Re:It's all about the controls on EA Forms Wii-Centric Studio · · Score: 1

Well you are saying that now, but have you looked at the list of games and release dates? Most developers are focusing on consoles, even FPS games are coming out for xbox first, and are usually much better because the pc versions end being a lousy port that doesn't work properly. Controller problems for console only come from poor development most of the time. Not counting MMOs or RTS games, a gamepad will be perfectly fine to play the game with. And in some cases a keyboard is the worst possible controller, in a racing game for example, where a wheel+pedals would be the best followed by a gamepad.

Well depends on the game. Most games that are good for single player are probably still as fun. If the game was focused on multiplayer aspect (well some are) then you are probably missing out on the fun since most people got bored and moved on. Also some games are now a pain in the arse to find, unfortunately.

  11. Re:Bad Idea, Period on Unpiloted Passenger Jet Tests · · Score: 1

Correct me if i am wrong here since i never flown a plane before. But don't pilots rely mainly on the equipment on the plane for their altitude, direction, inclination and a whole other things about where and how the place is going. Human sense aren't really useful for figuring out where the hell you are going in the middle of featureless piece of sky. Hell human sense can even be screwed up and cause the pilot to screw up and and probably make a fatal mistake if he relies on them rather then on what his equipment or training is telling him to do. So maybe, he is better of sitting on the ground in a flight sim styled set up and controlling the plane from afar. Although considering on the reaction time needed for current air combat, the slight delay in transmission and data processing might give advantage to the pilot in the actual seat, although this is purely speculative. Oh and another thing, wouldn't the UAVs in the squadron follow some algorithm, which potentially can be cracked and make it easier for AA defense to bring them down

Ok its true master chief is a bit of a dull character, because he is the main character and making his character extremely detailed would bog down the game, heck we know less about Gordon then we do about master chief.
