This is still better than people left to their own BS, which as we now know is posting/e-mailing that Obama is a muslim and Michelle called Rick Astley "whitey" (hehehe I may have that a little wrong) and all that other made up BS about Obama. I'd rather have cookie cutter, slightly more true BS floating around. Btw I'm independent and hate Obama a lot and McCain almost as much so yes, this post was sort of unbiased.

Seriously, iphones and all apple products are for arrogant, self important douchebags and who the hell knows why all the major news networks feel the need to report on it. Nobody ends up actually being happy with their iphone because of locked down crap and activation troubles, etc. Ever hear someone complain about their blackberry? NAH AH! It's just like Creative players vs ipods. They're cheaper with bigger screens and more features and free games and you can load them with any program you want and yet you're only really damn cool if you but an ipod so everyone does. I would think slashdot readers are smart enough to actually weigh the features and pros and cons against price and BUY SOMETHING ELSE!

If I've got a paperclip sitting on a desk, the entire earth is pulling at it and yet one little 1 ounce magnet could pick it up. Refrigerator magnet 1, earth 0. They could strap a tiny, low yield rocket to the asteroid and blast it away waaaaaaay faster and more effectively. The whole gravity thing is so weak and dependent on the distance between the asteroid and the weighted spacecraft that it has a high chance of not working or at least not working enough.

Anyway, my rough estimatations put that at like 700-1000 calories an hour if you're playing the right songs. It also got my heartbeat to within 9 BPM of dangerous (it was like 230 or something!) and I'm pretty well in shape! That's the only way to go, trust me. Btw if you're really cheap and don't wanna buy the proper consoles, get Stepmania. That's a free, possibly open source but I dunno for sure version of DDR not made by Bemani/Konami and you can download all the songs from every DDR version at ddruk.com. I've got like 600 songs or something so a daily workout is never boring. Oh yeah and play some really intense video game like Unreal Tournament. I use to play Unreal Tournament GOTY and Exile 3 from Spiderweb Software and that's about it so I haven't had any trouble at all. I just got a P3 laptop for free at a rummage sale cuz the hard drive was broken (but I had a spare one). This model goes for far under $100 on ebay so let's compare. 400MHz processor vs 850 MHz processor. 128 vs 128 of ram. 1GB of storage compared to 20GB. 7 inch screen vs 14. And a who knows but probably less AH batter vs a 2.2AH battery (you can order a 4-6+ AH one on ebay for it though). Oh and mine came with ME on it so I reinstalled that and it boots from off in about 15 seconds and shuts down in just under 5 seconds. Yep, mine's faster. This trend of ultra cheap but slower than hell laptops is a joke. If you want some cheap, slow piece of crap that can surf the web and type documents, just buy a used laptop on ebay for even cheaper.

It has to end eventually. Also I think with interest in solar technology going up lately, I think the innovation will spike then slow down. It's more of a logarithmic pattern or whatever that is. You know where it takes more and more effort to keep improving further. Kinda like speeding up to near light speed taking more and more energy as you get closer to 100%. And the cost of improving the quality of electronics increasing higher and higher as it gets closer to perfect. It's proven to be pretty cheap to improve efficiency as it is now but when we're at like 80% efficiency it's gonna take a heck of a lot more effort to get from 80 to 81% than it did to get from 20 to 21% and even more to get from 81 to 90% until it's just not feasible to get any higher.
