Apple does though. They have the most illegal business practices you can imagine. Every store in the US selling Apple products is subject to Apple price fixing rules. They can't drop their prices below a certain amount on an Apple product or they lose their "license" to sell Apple products. What a scam. So is this. Clearly someone working high up in Ebay is a scientologist.
You can never really trust any vendor about any product. For something this important, do it yourself. Rig your drive to explode if the case is opened without flipping the secret switch on the bottom hehehe. Of course, you'd have to have a really secure OS then too.
pop companies are already ruining Earth:-P But really if aliens found it, Pepsi would try and market it to them!
btw it sounds like the requirements are an active pop bottle rocket making it to space. So put some vinegar, baking soda, and solid iron in it. When it reacts and creates thrust, use a high powered magnetic accelerator to launch it into space like a rail gun. Then you've got a working rocket in space:-)
I think the potention chemical energy in water is greater than sunlight. But the efficiency of gasoline in cars is way higher than 15%. And when you take into account that one gallon of water weighs 8 pounds, WAY more than gasoline, you can carry less fuel that will get you less far. It's a far less efficient system unless they actually mean you carry around the hydrogen. Even then shipping water to a refinery with the weight of it isn't cheap either.
you know it's possible with certain devices already invented years ago or just some seriously hardcore mental training, you can remember and control all your dreams. I tried it and I did alright with it but I kept screwing up and waking up at like 2:00 AM and it pissed me off so I stopped. Plus my dreams are screwed up! But for the other 99.9999% of people, I'm gonna guess no. Unless you purposely hook up a robot to yourself before going to sleep and you dream about attacking someone and the robot attacks someone. Then you're in trouble.
Oh and btw the last dream I had, I kid you not, was about a team of people from my college vs dinosaurs in a shipping spree at the dollar store for charity donations to another country all for a TV show. We won by the way and shipped some nice stuff to wherever. I'd hate to see the robot act that one out. I dunno if he has a ram dinosaur's cart into shelf subroutine.
The real solution is to pretend like it's sold by putting it on a torrent site with "cracked" or "full with key" in the title. Then it will spread like crazy. You know why? Here's a story I heard!
This one guy wanted to get rid of his old refrigerator when he got a new one. He put it out on his front lawn with a sign that said "free." It sat out there for like two weeks and nobody took it. His friend told him people must assume it doesn't work if it's free so he put a sign on it that says "For sale $25" and the next night someone stole it.
yes I do consider it to be "soon." Remember we were all supposed to have flying cars and stuff like 10 years ago according to projections? Everyone says "oh by ____ we'll have _____" and it never, ever comes true. No jet packs, no cars that drive themselves, no decent robots, no scramjets, no new sources of power, no nanbots for medical purposes, none of that! About 20 years is nothing. We'll be lucky if a new copy of Windows comes out before then;-) btw someone modded my post up there "offtopic." What does that tell you about human brain processing ability?
yes, programs do indirectly control how many cores they use. If you only run your program's processor intensive code in one thread, the OS's scheduler can only assign it to one core and that's that. If it was capable of splitting a single thread between cores, every program would work well on multi-core systems. Like a zip password cracker for instance. The one I run only uses 100% of one core. If they coded another thread to try the second half of the list of passwords and started both threads at once, then it'd use both cores. And like I said, nobody programmed their programs to split the processing into three parts, only 1, 2, or 4. And like I said, if one program is using up all the cores and maxing them out, your system appears frozen because explorer.exe and other such processes don't get enough resources. If you have one core open, other processes from other programs can use it so it appears faster to have 3 cores than 4 under some circumstances.
And by the way, how often does more than one process running on your computer at any given time use up a significant amount of processor resources? Yeah, almost never. Most of them sit there idle.
well as a programmer for 2 years and someone who just knows what he's talking about, computers and human brains will not be equal anytime remotely soon. They work in the most basic way completely differently from each other. We can look at a picture and say it's Steve Jobs in a sombraro and a million computers couldn't figure that out in years of facial recognition and object comparison. And yet it'd take a room full of humans with pencils and paper to figure out certain math operations that computers can do in under a second. Computers are linear and human brains and dynamic and relational. Computers can't do hardly anything open ended and we can't do linear stuff very well. And yes you can write code for relational database access but it doesn't come close and the IO time on any storage media can't come close to a human brain.
what planet do you live on? Spam takes up such a huge amount of all internet traffic, they thought it was going to crash the entire internet at the current rate of increase just a few years ago. Wasn't it like half of all traffic or something? And like 90% of spam is sent by botnet comps.
you're not alone. I read that and was like wait, WHAT?! That's bringing stupid to brave new levels. But when you think about it, there's a lot of times when a triple core will be "faster" than a quad core. Most programs are set up to run any important, repetetive code on a single core. Like windows movie maker. It has multiple threads but the video encoding one can only run on one core. Then there's the dual core friendly ones. If possible, they'll use both cores. If you're lucky it will also expand to 4 if you have a quad. But very few programs can handle 3 cores. That's because for programmers, tasks and data and everything really just doesn't divide very well by uneven numbers like 3. So most programs will use 2 of the 3 cores. So now instead of your system being just about locked up because all the cores are maxed, you have one more core to do normal windows stuff like refreshing the form and letting you do something else. If it was quad though, all 4 would be maxed and you couldn't do anything. Yes I know, with quads the task running would get done faster but does anyone really get up and make a sandwich and just let it run? I open my TV Tuner Card viewing program or check my e-mail lol.
We don't need AI and network scanners and blah blah blah. It's crazy easy to detect just by the traffic patterns and amount of data sent if a computer is infected. So ISPs detect everyone that sent data to known botnet targets or controllers and disconnect that customer until they disinfect themselves. Then everyone will be convinced to practice better overall security and they won't crack down on p2p as much because botnet traffic will no longer bog down entire ISP networks and I'll have lots of business as a computer repairer:-P it's the perfect idea really.
naw, we'd just have diamond everything! I want a solid diamond bladed exacto knife! There would be reverse diamond spiked hurricance nails and diamond hunting arrows and diamond knives and diamond...everything else that needs to be hard or cut something oh and diamond earrings:-P
can't we just go out to a nebula and get some? lol jk. But seriously, then we're still relying on hydrycarbons to make our fuel, just adding a step. Kinda dumb. Now if we could figure out how to make diamonds out of all the spare carbon, then we've got something!
This article doesn't make any sense. Hydrogen + burning = water. Hydrogen contains hydrogen atoms and no carbon at all. And if I assume they mean how engine lubricant oil burns off a bit and that's the carbon emissions, they said they're going to trap the carbon emissions and ship it back to be made into fuel. Besides such a system having to use more energy than it generates, why would you do that when you have hydrogen powered cars? You wouldn't need to make hydrocarbon fuels from emissions if cars don't run on it anymore. And then they say they're going to dump the liquified carbon emissions somewhere under the ocean or in a mountain or whatever.
So in summary, they're going to trap non-existant carbon from cars, process it into useless fuel, and dump that fuel in a mountain...wtf?
I know what's wrong with yours. It sounds like it's waiting for you to be doing something really important or intense, then it's gonna die. Like a final level or something. So do that so you can get a new one lol.
Don't you think it's compeltely reasonable and possible that someone would download that sort of thing to see what terrorists think and what they're planning? I'm not saying they did that necessarily but someone could so that's a stupid law.
If they gave out Vista for free to everyone with free licensing with no restirctions at all, that still wouldn't encourage people to use it. Pirates are smart, they don't want Vista! They don't want to steal Vista, sell Vista, or use Vista no matter how much they dim down the "trial" state of the OS or whatever they call it.
sorry but ERRRRRRRR you're wrong. For God sake people, you're not physicists but you have brains. There is and always has been one theoretical perpetual motion device possible and it has nothing to do with radioactive decay or magents. Nobody has built it for some reason though. Don't you watch Futurama? If you can somehow mess with inertia in just the right way that causes the generator to want to stand still while the rest of the planet moves around it, it will look like it's having the opposite effect amd the generator is the one moving.
I know you're all like "bullshit!" by now but this exists in nature. Ever heard of a tornado? It would be kinda like how a tornado gets so much energy. There are opposing forces caused by air pressure that should just about cancel each other out and do nothing. But the energy of Earth turning and air's resistance to turning with Earth because of its gaseous state combined with the fact that the inertia isn't in a straight line causes more rotational energy in the opposite direction than would be exerted if Earth wasn't there. The air draws power from the Earth's rotation by resisting wanting to turn with Earth, just like I mentioned how a generator could work.
You know how many people would throw up if they did make a 100% sucessful winged aircraft? Ignoring how messed up takeoff would be, current aircraft handle turbulence by cutting through it and minmizing it through the smallest possible air resistance and a small wing area compared to a bird. Birds just slow down and speed up and in strong gusts and float around with the wing instead of fighting it. They even go from coasting along to a dead stop in a sudden wind gust by putting their wings up and absorbing the backwards force. All that bobbing up and down and moving around and speed changes would be awful! People would be throwing up left and right! I can see it now..."Bat Airlines: For your next vacation, take the plane ride from hell...through hell!" And they could even paint on one wing "from hell" and "through hell" on the other wing. Genius! I should patent that and sit on it so nobody tries it.
Okay so when people hack and unencrypt or digitally re-record the music as it's playing and put it on a p2p network, this stops it how? They're saying it will filter encrypted music that you don't own and not let you play it? That's what they're doing now! It's called DRM! The only difference is adding encryption. Anyway, I can record straight from my soundcard's output internally at basically 99% quality. Newer motherboards and all Vista machines can't do that apparently because that's the ultimate encryption and DRM buster. There's just no stopping it. So if they really mean a "filter" it would have to be a content filter which of course wouldn't work because how could it tell an legal, bought downloading song from a p2p downloading song? All it has to do is block one single legal file and they've got a law suit. So until they find a way to telepathetically beam the music only into my head and not the air as sound waves based on my DNA or retina, they're out of luck. Too bad their product actually has to be played! If only they could charge us for owning the song and then not let us listen to it at all.
