But the cable companies do care and there's numerous previous examples of them blacklisting channels to manipulate the entertainment market, the economy, or the media itself directly. Just search online for information pertaining to the debacle about Dodgers TV.
What do you guys stand to gain from confusing people into thinking Ivanka is Trumps wife, not his daughter? Is it because if this was his wife doing it, you think the rest of your statement would be true? I don't get it.
I've got some bad news for your overblown ego. This isn't Detroit. In the history of the entire world, nobody has ever abandoned a beach city. Learn your history.
That's what I thought, too. But actually take a look at the video. The design looks really cool. I'm skeptical it actually works and the video is real, but if it's for real then it's actually a pretty tight propeller design. The vertical wind vanes only are omni-directional in 2D. Theoretically this thing can harvest wind coming from directly above or below it too.
Limit everybody to worst case, throw away unused bandwidth.
You're right, that's not a good plan. But it's also not even remotely what I'm suggesting. Read it again until you can understand it, and until then shut the fuck up.
You realize your argument is so obviously wrong it's hard to imagine you don't work for a phone company, right? There's absolutely no excuse whatsoever you can contrive that should allow them to charge you for a 1080p stream, tell you you're getting a 1080p stream, but then only actually give you a 480p stream "because most customers won't even notice the difference." In fact, especially if most people won't even notice the difference. That's straight up fraud, right there. That's fucking illegal. And don't even get me started on them throttling a 1080p stream that you're paying a completely different party for. That's theft.
Right, this exactly. All the customers connected to the network should get a maximum bandwidth allotment of one portion of the total bandwidth divided by the amount of connected clients. Latency should not be fucked with, period. Traffic should not be prioritized, period, above everything getting the exact same priority.
Any counter-arguments to this are expressly for the purpose of allowing situations where carriers can overbook their networks and shift the blame around between the customers.
You've got to be kidding me. Their stated business plan is establishing a global communications monopoly and then metering and throttling the everliving shit out of it's traffic. They were flagrantly in violation of net neutrality laws for years before they got repealed. They still practice traffic shaping that has nothing to do with improving service quality for anyone, and when you call to complain about it they insinuate that anyone using an encrypted connection for something other than to log into Facebook is a pirate. What is to investigate here? Seriously?
Also it appears they're spending a ridiculous amount of money solving something that isn't a problem with a solution that will definitely cause a massive amount of problems for everything and everyone it even comes close to touching.

Coming up next! Ajit Pai apologizes profusely for taking the job of selling out his fellow consumers and then resigns in disgrace.

We all know that would involve them learning shit and these people don't learn from anything.
... turn about is fair play! Let's leak those emails!!! For the lols and great justice!
Tumbler isn't a web browser. That's a false equivalence fallacy and you don't deserve any mod points for it. Feel shame.
... assuming other languages aren't made out of C++
I'm still waiting for that promised Linux support for the Occulus Rift...
So you're saying this was the one step too far for you? They weren't creeps already?

There's a link to a youtube video in the summary.

Saying it doesn't make it true.

Someone is supposed to profit, but it's not clear exactly how.

Ajit Pai "should" have warned them all privately that everything he was saying publicly was a complete lie, and he knew it ahead of time.
Honestly it's not a bad idea if only for the reason that we could gain a consensus on whether or not to just let one hit us.
Faxanadu coming soon to Switch Online. :-D
How about we put NATO in charge of the global security of the internet, instead of Main One Cable, Nigeria's most expendable intern?
I give you full points for effort.
Facebook will now attempt to bribe the French government to look the other way with unprecedented access to everyone's personal data, too.
