Hey I've seen tests given to students in the 1800's and 1900's and they are very difficult. So yes, I'd send my kids to school if the teachers were smart enough to teach at the levels indicated by the tests!! But due to unions and tenure all your children can be guaranteed is good indoctrination and instruction on what ever sensitivity is the PC of the hour.

Great points! My home schooled 13 year old can out read, is more articulate and far more interested in advancing her education then most adults let alone children of her own age. Add to this the fast track enrollment opportunities at some of the most prestigious universities just for home schoolers and you can see why the state sponsored schools are working overtime to banned home schooling in California. They fear what basic education can do, create people who can think for themselves! This is were the guns come in HAHA!
We can through the entire Federal Budget at "education" and still get the crap students we get now. It's not the money, it's the poor quality of teaching. We need to get away from all the PC driven social crap taught in schools and back to true education, the basics!

My little brother work for a company that made point of sales terminals. One model used a small 5"(?) CRT which just before lunch he dutifully discharged, only to have a co-work recharge while he was eating. Took him all day to get feeling back in his hand, hehehe.
I know it's a duty of citizenship, but when was the last time one of these clowns serving where heard saying that? Most just want to right a book, get rid of frustrations through misguided aggressions, or are so bigoted they should be banned from serving for life! I've had many a person tell me they knew someone was guilty because of the way they look, their skin color, their profession or lack of, etc. Never on the merits of the case. I mean really the only ones that would probably give you an honest trial are people smart enough to want to avoid jury duty. If a case goes on for more then a couple of days it's a drain on your financial, emotional and relationship resources. Almost seems like the state has made it mandatory to be an easily manipulated jackass to serve.
I think it's time to really reconsider what we call a jury of our peers. Frnkly if your to stupid to not get out of jury duty or you seek it your are not my peer. Maybe we should consider creating a large pool of pre-qualified jurists that are paid a living wage when they sit in jury.
I'm inspired!! Now I just need an evil scientist laboratory (barn) and some cash. In all seriousness if I could do this without changing the integrity of the original vehicle I'd start today!
a sick and evil dream of converting my 1967 Pontiac GTO into a hybrid. I'll keep the motor, attach a generator and a trunk load of batteries. I'm really after the torque so I'll need to use those batteries and that big generator to power the nasties electric motor I can find! Bwwwwaa HAHAHAHA! Why not?
