Try Google it works wonders. Here is a nice pdf that is quite encouraging if I read it right there has been a decline http://www.azdhs.gov/plan/report/im/im/im04/7/7-keyfindings.pdf and remember we are growing like a weed out here, all that desert to fill. AND the majority of deaths are suicide which should be somewhat discounted as they probably would find some other means to their ends.

I totally agree that training is an absolute necessity, many elementary schools actually did that years ago. Simply going off about unrestrained individuals is ridiculous. These same unrestrained people kill every year with their cars, drugs, booze, vending machines, weird sex acts, I mean really what you want is a license to go out in public or use the internet. It should involve an in depth interview with a psychologist, background checks on your life and all the bone head things you have done and a drug test. If you fail you stay indoors and hopefully only hurt yourself.

Here in AZ we have what they call open carry laws. We're not shooting up the streets and bars but we are safer, an armed society is a very polite society :-)

Ya I was acquainted with one of the main programmers way back when. Got to see the production of some of the first product, they created a rig that sand blasted and vacuumed at the same time. They may have moved up to a laser later on but I didn't get a chance to see it. Then they had thousand of dollars worth of high tech computer gear, 20 or so IBM XT's which were hand fed these disks so they could great the ProLock disks. I believe it was actually the programmer that was over heard and quoted at Comdex regarding the worm. This place was a hoot, I can remember all these nerds in production drooling over this one chick cause she liked to show you her tattoo, all you had to do was ask, it was in a personal spot.

Vault Corp. what a product. Actually it was ingenious, even if your 5 1/4 disk wore out the little mark would register with the copy protection software. All you needed to do was swap out the back up disks with the original. I hear at Comdex a certain individual told a certain hacker what he would unleash with the next update a worm on anyone that broke the protection scheme. Company was closed about 6 months later.

Recently the school insisted on showing Gore's movie but refused to show any counter point because in their eyes there was only the, and I quote, "ONE TRUTH" Excuse me but that's not education that's indoctrination and very, very, frightening no matter which side is doing it.

The only way this country will get back it's lead in the Sciences, and with that commerce, is if we get people with degrees in science and math, or from industry research and development into teaching.

People that refuse to allow two side to an argument, to give some a choice or allow for discovery have no teaching skills IMHO.

Street crime doesn't effect those on the other end of the cameras and they are to far removed from the action.
