Depends on when the hardware was bought. I have stuff that is 5 years old that still does it job perfectly. Back then there was a lot less cross compatible stuff. Now a days if it can't support windows and OS X at a min. I don't buy it.
I can't get by with a Mac Mini. I *need* a laptop for my job and school.
Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Macs but people tend to forget about the costs to switch platforms.
Which is fine. Though the cost to switch is way to high. I dont have a couple thousand of dollars laying around at the moment to get a mac, software I need, and to replace the external hardware (scanners, printers, etc) I have which are not compatible with the MAC.
Comodo sounds really interesting will have to do more research. How is it telling you information about programs asking for internet access?
For example in zone alarm it will say XXX.exe wants access. When you click for more info it tells you jack (except a program wants access...duh) and you have to research it yourself? Is comodo better at this (I hope so)
The other thing I hate about zone alarm is every program gets added to the program list when you run it. So imagine a clean list and I open notepad, guess what notepad is now on the zonealarm list it isn't given access but it makes managing stuff a pain.
I will do my own research of course but you seem to really like it so figure get some second opinions.
I have different Anti virus product on each of my machines at home. I figure the gap of what they won't detect is smaller then what just having one product will detect.
Bullet proof? Of course not.
So far with Avast, AVG, (mind you one virus product per computer only) ZoneAlarm, FireFox, and some basic sense I haven't been hit.
My only issues (sad enough) is when a windows update broke Zone Alarm and when AVG detected Zone Alarm as a virus (cause a new version came out) and shut it down.
Now that i really think of it all the products designed to protect me have been the ones giving me all the trouble. HAHAHA (as I cry)
Imagine instead of carbon credits you have download credits. Hey I only downloaded 5 gigs this month I want to be able to sell the other 15 gigs to anyone who is over their limit.
I read it more along the lines of if a person is starving (for example) or facing the possibility of starvation then anything they do will be based on trying to get food. So a person who spends time working on an OSS project might now think I need to do things that will bring me short term value (ie money) so I don't starve and might either work of other things or start demanding money (or food) for their time and effort.
When a person's basic needs aren't being meet nothing else really matters.
After RTFA it didn't actually mention percentage of total budget that univ. are spending on this. If its 50% of their total budget it is an issue, if its.000000001 how much of an issue is it really? If they are looking to save money there are probably a lot easier ways to do so with much bigger savings.
I remember that damn scorpion bot...took like 10 LAW rockets and lots of full burning of clips to bring it down....
I played it on the C64 too...great game..
I am always curious why drugs are considered bad because they enhance the bodyâ(TM)s natural abilities but things like glasses, earring aides, whatever are ok.
Glasses allow someone whose natural ability to not see well to see just as well (or even better) then someone with normal vision. Is using LASIEK bad? Same thing.
Either you are competing with what you were born and how hard you train or we use a variety of mechanical, biological, chemical techniques to be come better at something. Since we already do mechanical (glasses, better fabrics for clothes, swimsuits, etc) and we do some biological (or is it chemical) when athletes train in sealed rooms with more oxygen to raise their red blood cell count, why do we as a society draw the line with drugs?
Sorry you are full of it. I read your link over and over just to be sure. It gives breakdown of categories and percentages that is it. A formula would be X= Y +Z / (A * B). Which even when googling does not show.
For example Payment history category (35% of the total score) has seven sub categories to it. What are the weights of each one? How do they get the number for each one. How do the 7 sub categories come together to give you that 35%? I don;t see a single FORMULA on that page.
Are you not getting what I am asking for? Perhaps you are having a trolling day and I have fallen for it...
I did read the whole link...and googled fair Isaac and guess? Ready for it? You can not find the mathematical formula they use. It is a trade secret they have never released. I don;t care about the break down percentages I want (and the public DESERVES) to know the formula AND any modifications to the formula the credit that a credit bureau has done to it. Else no matter what they say to us (35% is from XYZ, 30% is from BCA) we really have no idea.
However your link to the how they calculate your credit score is the generic here is what they say. I was referring to the actually formula they use to determine the score (actually both since not all 3 of the credit bureaus use the same scoring system).
So tell me where can I find the exact formula that shows how my credit score is determined? You can't. The formula needs to be public. Cause without the ability to actually SEE the formula we have no idea how they actually get to the score. Just this vague hand waiving.
Why do these bureaus exist? They aren't a govt agency, they have no over site, their scoring methods are unknown (I would love to see if race played a factor in them..talk about a law suit), you have to pay them to freeze your account (not the 90 day one), pay to unfreeze them, and every business now feels entitled to use them when seeing if they want to provide you service you are going to pay for (cable company does not need my SSN and pull a credit report), and if they fuck up...guess what...you have to pay to fix everything.
What should be done is have one govt run credit agency, disband the private 3, and only allow the use of it for when loans are made (gee go figure huh). And maybe...JUST MAYBE...have some safe guards in place to prevent identity theft...cause they aren't there now.
Back at my days at GE Credit Card services an individual thought they were in a test system when doing some credit card processing testing for a 3rd party corporation. They used Hilary Clinton's name and address for a testing person. Turns out he was in a production system and it tried to pull her report. Within an hour FBI showed up in full force. Too bad the average American doesn;t have the same protection.
I have no clue on how corporate law/rules work so that being said. Isn't yahoo a US company (HQ in the US) and is subject to US laws no matter where they operate? Bad analogy time...if I as a US citizen go to a country where having sex with children is legal, I can still be prosecuted here in the US for having sex with children. I'm guessing it is probably different for corporations but as I said before I have no idea.
So does anyone know if a US based corporation has to follow UA laws no matter where they are?
It's not confusing at all. When you violate human rights and have oil we want we will eventually use that as the excuse when we invade your country. If you violate human rights and have no oil you are fine. However if you violate human rights and it gets too public and someone important complains AND it might cost money/re-election well then we have to do something.
How am I supposed to fine free teen porn on the internet without their emails? You act like there is some massive search engine where I could type in free teen porn and get hundreds of links or something...sad day today
Just take the prison setting move it to a field of flowers with a bright yellow sun, blue sky and white fluffy clouds. Remove the bad guys and put in ponies. Remove weapons and replace them with water cans, so you can water the flowers. If you don't water them the plants get sad (they won't die...that's bad). Your guy should be changed into a happy princess who wants to bring the world a smile. And her weapon of choice is to shoot rainbows from her finger tips that make everyone happy and safe.
Some of the classics have aged hard in regards to visuals and sounds. Maybe I am a graphics snob but a quick polish on graphics, updated sound, and working on modern hardware (without having to use Dos Box, etc] would be very nice.
Maybe this is being a graphic snob but at some point trying to lower expectations for some older games hasn't worked too well for me..YMMV. Then again when Wing Commander came out in VGA (I was blown away...) it was the best the industry had to offer. On the flip side playing the three stooges in Green monochrome on 2 5 1/4 disks with my brother for hours is a classic memory graphics can;t improve on.

Switching may be easy but it ain't cheap
Let's not open source a turd...
off topic to the main article ...

Not really a bad idea

What about the data on the equipment he no longer has access to? That's the real value. They didn't compensate him for that.
I am always curious why drugs are considered bad because they enhance the bodyâ(TM)s natural abilities but things like glasses, earring aides, whatever are ok. I agree...too bad we don't have the option of "none of the above". Oh well I wonder which candidate will by me lunch after screwing me...
Can we get this drug to the majority of the US voters before November please?
Don't be jealous cause my body is actually in good shape ;-)
Besides with some people (like in this article) the only way to force them down is to call their bluff.
I had one person try this with me, I stood up, stood in their personal space and eyed them down all the while having a nice smile and pleasant tone.
Then I casually mentioned all my years in martial arts, fighting, and lifting.
Never again had another issue with them. People who try to bully are weak mentally and can easily be broken.
Now if you yourself are timid then you need to work on that.

Simple!
because the Chinese govt then used that info to throw someone in jail who was doing nothing more then trying to fight for their basic human rights?
