    Investors should be aware of the overall dangers the legal profession present to companies, and how its current and generalized naiveté can sink fortunes overnight. While I know of no corporation that has been bankrupted by this sort of fiasco, it will happen eventually if lawyers doesn't catch up with the times.

    You might want to check out BuildRoot. It's what Gumstix uses for their distributions and it works pretty well.
    They have even has the rt patch from Ingo Molnar merged into their standard distribution. Sounds like a Gumstix might
    not be a bad way to go now that I think about it. And then you would have some pretty good community support. My $.02 ...

    I wanted to Parent as insightful but I'd like him to consider the fact that it is a very similar
    aggression that allows people to see an injustice and actually do something about it rather than
    sit on the sidelines. Also if it wasn't for this kind of aggression do you think we'd of had a civil
    rights movement? Some times the only way to make things 'right' is by aggression. I'm not saying that
    every one should as aggressive as they are in a video game. I'm just saying that you can't totally
    decry this part of our humanity(or is that instinct?) because it is very vital to your own personal
    continued existence when it comes to actual injustice. The problem as I see it is that no one taught these
    kind of people what to expect from life. And there is the rub, because not many video games teach you how
    to loose graciously, where life sometimes demands it.

    I disagree because you will be able to use a logic levels to read the data. So instead of having more specialized hardware you will need more specialized software and some minor hardware hacking (hack an old usb key) to get the data out. I would also guess that there probably be less random data corruption compared to magnetic problems of HDD. Can any experts on stuff like this comment, because I just did a lot of guess work (^^;

    SSD Sata is 220 ma @ 5v.
    SSD IDE is 37 ma @ 5v.

    2.5" 7200rpm IDE on full seek 460 ma @ 5v
    2.5" 5400rpm SATA on full seek 420 ma @ 5v
    source(I think my calculations are correct)

    With the increased seek speed of SSD I'd rather go with the IDE SSD because of the huge power savings.

    I know they have robotic studio out now but...the Querk is Linux based. wtf are they thinking?
    I think MS is just dishing out some cash to get in on the action but other wise
    has nothing to do with this. It's just another promo stunt for them so they can proclaim
    they play 'open' just like they did with robotics studio. In reality they had no
    chance of winning in that arena because play/stage/gazebo was already out and is
    better built for people who do serious robotics. Or this is their big promo stunt to
    now start charging joe shmoe for the robotics studio..... either way it still stinks.

    And spyware and malware don't already create more work? For the average person who doesn't
    know jack about computers (my mom) Linux is the best thing they can use. And have you installed
    a distro lately? It's pretty easy and quick. This just isn't an argument any more...
    The real reason Linux is slow to adopt is because the people like Dell and HP haven't advertised it yet.
    They only dip their toe and then get scared of the water.

    Even the term open source scares businesses and executives.It's a good thing
    after you understand it but there's a lot of parts of it that Microsoft can whisper in
    people's ears to scare them into using the Microsoft alternative.
    Stupid is as stupid does. Why would you trust a company that wants nothing but your money?

    Yes but the ideas are now out there. And Microsoft can't use them to make money.
    They hate that because they are the biggest patent troll of them all.

    What happen to the importance of the intent of the law, instead of the law unjustly applied.....
    I'm so fucking tired of everyone (companies and people) trying to find loopholes so they
    don't have to work hard. Whatever happen to doing a good job? When did everyone start to screw
    eachother over? Maybe I just didn't notice it till now but it smells like poo.

    Wow, so it's like what MS is trying to do to Linux right now.

    1.Set a stupid precedence with some unknowing schmuck(s) of a company who knows nothing of the common good.
    2.Apply precedence ad nauseam, creating more FUD than anything real.
    ....
    3.Profit!

    I find the state of business quite sad. There are too many companies who try to get away with dubious deeds just to make a buck.

    I think you are missing the point.... not much *IS* compatible with Vista.
    wow... what a role reversal with Linux...
