    I tend to agree with parent.
    Looking at the date of this arcticle and this article would
    seem to indicate that Bill H. is either fighting this
    kind of thing, or providing the fuel for such a marketing
    farce. I'm currios to know if he had a hand it it but it's
    probably something we'll never know.

    so maybe it wasn't on the PS3 but valve seems to take a more practical apoach.
    This Article has some good info on what Valve is doing to bring threads into gaming.
    Personaly I'd rather use their model because it's more utilitarian and less 'Because I can'.

    I've recently found a job, so I applied to alot of places online. I use OO.o and save to .doc and never had any problems
    from any prospective employer when I sent them a scan of my transcript (embedded picture in a .doc). They all said "nope,
    no problem with the file" when I asked in the phone interview. I have even had the opportunity to use spread sheets and graphing
    for a term paper. Worked fine.

    OO.o is Good enough to get a job and write a term paper.
    All the VB stuff....well I can't really say. I'd like to know what the VB stuff in office is used for.

    I think Gentoo should focus on it's embedded offering. The benifits of being
    able to compile all your packages from source and combine your system however you
    want and do it all from source really shines.

    I personaly wouldn't get one of these. I use my laptop for coding and DVD watching.
    For me it makes better sense a full solid state flash drive because it uses less
    battery life and is probably a little quicker and more quiet. Of course if you need more than 8GB
    of storage, the price is a little prohibitive. That's why I use SVN, and store all my code at home.

    Yea because they have their own builds of Windows right...
    I'm not saying having your own build is bad, it's one of the benifits of Linux.
    What I'm saying is that they could have support in far shorter time and on a quality
    distro that is a little more progressive (talking about Ubuntu here) with the way it deals
    with FOSS vs Proprietery drivers. AND since we are talking about Ubuntu you could probably
    opt out of support if you wanted to, because of Mark's stance that you will never be charged
    for the OS, but just the support. So you can make grand-ma happy because she gets a bug free 'puter
    where she call call up tech support, and it's got a brand name. As for the rest of us, we already
    know Ubuntu runs on it, which means it has decent Linux friendly hardware, so cancel your support
    contract and put what ever you want on it. I don't think it would hurt Mark's feelings. Unlike ape boy Balmer......

    The basis that the american dream was built upon are worth striving for. But tell me, where are those values now? I can honestly say that not one of the 'Original' values that the american dream was built upon is still around. Not one. And just like Rome, at one point Rome was the 'perfect' society, built upon the betterment of ALL it's people. And just like Rome, those values have been twisted and corrupted to the point where they no longer exist. And just like Rome, that twisted set of value MUST and WILL come to end.
    No where in that did you single out politicians. And have you ever been to my state and met my representatives?
    I've met them. I've heard them talk in public. You can no more judge my government that I can judge Iraq or Iran.
    To call for the end of the US because we supposably judge other countries is hypocritical. But hey I can't stop you.

    Fuck you buddy. I believe in them and so does my Father. It took me 6 years to go through college. I did it on my own dime.
    I worked at a lumberyard in Montana in the winter and the summer to pay for my college degree and send my self to Japan on foreign
    exchange. You...let me refraise that: YOU are responsible for YOUR OWN betterment. NO ONE is going to give it to you. Sure you can
    help your neighbor, but that doesn't change the fact that they have to do something. That is the American way that I abide by.
    And if you don't understand that, then you are going to get left in the dust whither the US is around or not.

    And right now, the US has a VERY crazy/insane/retarded President in charge. Perhaps this is the begining of the end...??? I sure hope so.
    Maybe you shouldn't throw stones. I don't believe every thing the US does is the most
    correct thing to do, but that doesn't call for it's demise any more than the US called
    for the demise of Iraq (as it was known). So you can go get bent when you think the US
    should end. I'll agree that it needs a change but that doesn't make the ideals it was
    built upon any less valid.

    I concure. If only Bungie had thrown Halo at Linux gaming we would see a little different environment.
    But the got bought so that's to bad. Kindof ironic that the only game I do play these days is Halo 1 and 2
    and I don't own any Windows computers.....MS should just fold up shop as a operating system maker and just
    make games an applications, they'd make more money with less headachs. all of this was offtopic...mod me now!

    My mom uses Linux. She still asks the same amount of questions as she did when she was using Windows...
    My mom is 55 years old, and one of those baby boomers that is affraid of computers. If that tells you
    any thing about Linux vs. Windows is that for a non-technical non-gamer user won't be able tell the difference.
    That still doesn't change the fact that some one was trying to root-kit her Windows 98 computer and now can't.

    There are alot of people saying that this is stupid because their iPod
