As computing power increases, and size decreases, most likely Desktops will be part of the LCD. Look at the Raspberry Pi, or the MK802, it's small enough to hide inside any LCD made today and provide the computing power of a PC 4 years ago.
If the US finds any alien artifact, do you think we would broadcast it to the rest of the world, and cause chaos among the nations racing to get it first. What do you think the Chinese and Russians would do? There is a reason why TOP Secret is "Top Secret".
There are lots of hoax are that. I'm sure 90% of them are hoax, but there are some real genuine explainable events. It's funny that people will blindly believe in religions and deities, but laugh at the possibility of other life in our universe.
And how do you explain the depiction of flying saucers in ancient times, test flights or weather balloons? I understand some things are questionable, when all you see is a bright light moving in the sky, but detail accounts cant all be spoofs.
So all those UFO's (thousands of accounts) threw-out the decades was a single prototype saucer from the 1950's logging thousands of flight hours all this time?
Well I've tried several different distros and each work different IMO. Some have issues with the current hardware I had, others have problems with software I try to use. I understand you need different variations for different platforms, like phones, servers, etc, but Microsoft has their variations too. They have their Mobile OS, Server OS, and Desktop OS, but its all supported by the same company. We need some sort of unification for Linux to be competitive with Windows, and Mac's. It looks like Ubuntu is trying to do this, but perhaps they need a bit more support to really make it happen.
Considering how fragmented Linux is with so many different distributions, shouldn't you, or the community take a stand and pick a distribution that everyone can work together on? Everyone seems to have their own favorite flavor, but this makes developing software for Linux a problem.
That's true. Even if your work doesn't use Windows 8, some idiot user is going to install Windows 8 on their laptop, and they will come to you for support when something doesn't work right. Whether we like it or not, we have to be familiar with any OS we may have to provide support for. At my work, we mostly use Windows 7, but a few bring their Macs to work, and ask me to support their issues, I have no choice but to learn Macs because of this.
Obama needs all his mental energy to just speak without a teleprompter, which clearly shows his mental capacity. It's no wonder he has trouble deciding anything else.
Jobs, and Zuckerberg? Like this article is trying to compare the Guinness's of this century? Am I missing something, because usually smart people like Jobs, and Zuckerberg use their brains to create magnificent things, what is Obama great creation? The deficit?
I think there is a lot here to sacrifice. No heat or AC I presume, if you want to get 30 miles on a full charge. So basically useless in the North region, and hot as hell if you live in Texas. Probably useless in mountainous regions, and I imagine there is a weight limit to this car. A person would be better of using a Golf Cart to drive their ass around town.
Can we really trust people with all this information? Scientists usually have good intentions; it’s how the rest of the bad people use it for their own evil purposes. I think there should be some oversight, but I don't we can just trust everyone with potentially dangerous ideas.
Have you looked at the mk802 III? It has a dual core 1.6 ghz cpu with 3d graphics, and 1gb ram.
Yea but the PCB was large, and the controls don't always match. Now building a name arcade cabinet powered by a cell phone would be cool.
I can see buying a monitor and choosing what pc module you want plugged into it. A hidden compartment that let's you plug in you pc.

Its all about probability, and given the advancement we are making in technology, we may find aliens sooner than you think.

Don't expect to hear anymore about this story.
"Trespassers will be SHOT!". I'm they'll think twice about coming around.

that you can never truly own an IDEA forever, but they will fight like hell trying.

and we will have cars that get 55 MPG within 1 year!

plastics hybrid cars that get 50hp. Just like he wants to force us to buy Health Insurance. I see the pattern now. Sounds like communism to me.

You have a point, but its not my favorite beer.
I blame it on Slashdot, for not allowing me to edit after posting.
Hey, my spell check gets it wrong sometimes. Should have noticed, but didn't.

They only way to change the current corrupt system would be a revolt from the people. That's been the only solution throughout human history.
