Passwords THEMSELVES aren't considered convenient enough to many non-techs or people that have managed to dodge most of the Internet revolution that I see in my day to day working life... so you can see how changing to even something like a USB key (many not ever using anything USB related in their life) cam be just as bad.
You obviously not had to deal with the average user. I run a web site that has accounts and many non-tech users and many people can't even understand the concept of password let alone asking them to upload a public key. I regularly get complaints that our site isn't "user friendly" because the person can't manage to even remember their username... so anything that is even slightly more complicated or involves something that they don't deal with in every day life it's right out.
Why do these studies never talk about the fact that every major news outlet (including NPR) blindly takes a corporate-centered view of the world? Corporatism is one of the biggest issue of our time and not one outlet chooses to talk about it, going so far as to cut off discussions about it when it is brought up by callers on their talk shows...
Unfortunately, my current congressman told me openly he thinks monopoly operators like Comcast shouldn't be regulated. Thank god he is on the way out, though I will be the guy on the way in thinks something similar.
I wish I could agree that the American public wasn't stupid and wasn't going through a phase where reason and logic are seen as evil as well, but we know that it is.
The difference between the "left" and the "right" (in quotes because these "sides" mean a hell of a lot less than what the media would lead you believe) is that the right is totally on the side of the corporations and honest about it while the left is totally on the side of the corporations while being embarrassed and somewhat secretive about it. When it comes the corptcracy there really only one side in Washington. Obama is greatly on the side of the corporations too even if he's not as blatant about it as Bush was which is why his presidency is a disappointment.
That's the reality of corporate personhood in a nutshell.
All of the advantages (rights, freedoms, profits) with none of the disadvantages (jail, death, taxes)
(And don't say they pay taxes. The majority of corporations in the U.S. pay no taxes AT ALL).
If corporations are bad actors in a country, they ought to be have their charter revoked with no enumeration to stockholders. If CEOs are so responsible for a company (as they insist every time the subject of CEO pay packages come up) then they go to jail when the company breaks the law.
what is your solution? NO regulation at all? No regulation equals total corporate control. The government is the only institution that we have big enough that can prevent total overrun. And don't talk about "voting with your feet" because that only works if you have a real choice, and if you allow corporations with this much power do anything you want you can guarantee you WON'T have any choices.

Was Pac Man an American? I never knew... he must of been an expatriate in Japan then...
So they ran out of that silvery stuff they put on the baseball?
(sorry.. that's got to be the stupidest advertisement ever put on television...)
They don't have to follow the rules.
They're an American corporation.

we're screwed.

The party is called the "Democratic" party, not the "Democrat party."
Why I am posting this on a thread where someone is calling someone else "retarded," I'm not really sure.
Wasn't that the M.O. of Fox news during the Bush years?
Well.. as it seems that these days lawyers fall in at least one of these categories: 1) blatantly pro-corporation or 2) on the take.
The more money you have on hand the more justice you get. It's a travesty.

Middle America's support of either side is crazy.
But but but but but REGULATIONS ARE KILLING INDUSTRY!
At least that's what my rep. says when I write to him about making sure that Corporations follow the rules....
Yes. It was confirmed!

can someone make a slight "miscalculation" with the nukes and get rid of the Gary, Indiana problem, please?
oh come on. We know the nukes are already in orbit. Just ask Sean Connery or the guys from Def-con 4.
Troll? I *am* an American, you insensitive clod!
You need to drive through a Southern state one of these days!
IT'S LIKE YELLING
That's must be French for "it just looks cool, dude."
which eliminates most of the US populace...
It's not "wasteful spending" when the money is going to one of you close corporate buddies.
