Our primitive mind designed for a world where we are constantly under attack or will need to attack others, is the product of 500 millions years of evolution. Our higher brain functionally only 2 or 3 million years. So yes in term of making quick decision our primitive brain kicks in. We use it while driving, and every day living. That is why magicians are able to pull off their tricks on us. They get the primitive brain distracted on something else while they do something else. The higher human brain is much slower however it will try to process more information. Such as the question to the volunteers of this study if they want to do it or not. There is no immediate danger there is no pressure of instant response they can stand back and think about it. Factor in what rewards would they get, what are the risks, what trade offs from the action will occur. That is free will. However if someone tried to get volunteers and is a natural sales man would apply pressure on them to make a decision far more quickly. Because they will avoid them trying to think about it, they will keep their minds occupied with idle chit-chat, and implying the positive images of what will happen.
The study shows our primitive mind makes a lot of decisions for us. But nothing about free will.

The problem is silencing such people is only effective for a short time, but their anger will just build up further. It is better to have them out in the public and hopefully get pounced from a strong majority vote, to show that they are not indeed the silent majority, but actually just a vocal minority. The more you can show you are playing by the rules. The more power you have if pointed as unfair.

Because I really don't want to spend 18 hours a day maintaining my personal infrastructure just to survive. I much rather focus on what I am good at and offer these services to others, where in turn I get different services in return. But perhaps the people I am helping out cannot fully supply everything that I need for my survival. So let's use commonly recognized notes which I can exchange with others to help manage.

Outsourcing, Automation, Obsolescence, Overly high regulation, Political interests to discredit you, Already saturated so the pay stinks, and/or extremely dangerous.

Computer Science and working in IT is just as risky as working in any other sector. Just as long as you work around the Outsourcing problem, you can become the factor causing the Automation, and Obsolescence.

However more to the point. Having Computer Science Education doesn't mean that kids need to go into a Computer Science field, but enter their field with a degree of understanding and respect towards the discipline. Realizing what is hard to do and what is easy is a good skill to have. In my professional life, I had numerous encounters with customers and managers who either say. Such process is impossible for a computer to do, while it has a lot of steps each step is logical (or sometimes just can be skipped) allowing for a quicky program that solved hours of laborious man hours. Then you get the seemingly simple request which is very easy to explain, and train a person to do. While for a computer it is a difficult tasks and the chances of failure are higher than the acceptable limit.

Computer Science is a discipline which is a subset of Math which focuses on the study of computation, and process workflow. You see many of these concepts being taught in other disciplines under different names, such as a MBA class in Business Operations which focuses heavily on performance algorithms, where instead of writing a program we look at a business process and find how to improve it.

It would be a tool for engineers, architects and developers. Not a tool for every worker and person out there.
