So that laptop that you upgraded every 4-5 years became 6-10 years, because software makers need to be sure their software runs on these slower chips as well, the need for the newest and fastest wasn't as important, and many new features were expanded with the purchase of these new mobile devices.

So if you had all this money upfront and used it wisely. You can probably have a good life.
The problem is most young people do not have money, so they need a loan, to start out their lives. Now a bank loan needs to charge a higher interest rate for higher risk people. This was a big part of the 2008 recession, the subprime loans which split the risk to the institution meant they could offer lower interest rates to higher risk people, who then got loans they couldn't afford to pay. But this means if you are poor and have less money, you need to pay more money to borrow money. This puts you in a poverty cycle. And unfortunately banks can't just give the poor lower interest rates, because they are at a such a high risk of not paying it back.

This is the reason why we need government or some non-commercial safety net services. To help get people out of the cycle. This could mean giving people money to start out their lives, or offering services where they can get affordable housing or transportation and education healthcare...

One of the reason why Movies can fit on DVDs and Blueray disks, and being able to be streamed off a normal home internet connection for over a decade now, is lossy image compression. Traditional analog video sends a stream of signals at different intensities, at a predefined time, there is no buffering and no compression. The old Broadcast station makes the analog signal and the old tv picks it up and interprets it. Now if there is any interference, the screen would probably display static in some parts. Now this is actually a really good method, except for the fact that it needs a large "pipe" to go threw, and cannot interfere with other signals.
To reproduce this digitally 640*480*40fps*4bytes (24bit color)*15minutes*60seconds/min = 44,236,800,000 bytes of data or 41 Gigs of data for a 15 minute video.
So what do they do? The data is compressed, so other then showing each frame of data, they will render only what is different in each frame, trim out colors that we cannot see the difference...

Now this causes seeking to be choppy, because when you go back and forth, it will need to render all the bits and changes that has happened from your previous rendered screen. Keep in mind with analog video such as a VHS when Fast Forwarding or Rewinding while playing, you see the image go all wobbly and out of sync. That is because the analog signal that is being played is at a different time.

The only technology that can allow you to go back and forth and not be chunky is the Old Movie Film technology. Because it is just zooming a static picture.

We get to a point on Human lives were they are protective of their clans, and normally try to keep unity within it. So from ages 0-13 Learn about culture, 14-25 find a mate, 26-60 have children and raise them to adulthood, 60+ teach culture, and lessons learned.

This is rather good set of instincts for small communities and clans. However we are adapting to a much wider world. Back in the old days before we had wide literacy, word of mouth from predominate figures (mayors, preachers, teachers) was considered to be truthful, while the gossip was considered questionable info.
Then we started to get news papers, who will fact check and put predominate figures in place. The kids who are reading papers, know the BS the predominate figures are stating, but the older generation, will still cling to the fact the guy said it, that guy is important, so it must be the truth. As news papers grew, many of them started posting deceiving content, where radio/television came across. Because Broadcasting was expensive the were more likely to report on factual information and less on misleading people, besides stories where their competitors are wrong brought in more money. Then came the Internet, this gave us links to a lot more sources and allowed us to dig further then ever. That 5 minute blurb on the TV wasn't accurate or complete, plus it was full of their own bias. So people found the internet to be more trustworthy then TV news. The that leads us to today. Where we need to figure out the truth of the content we read, we know what is BS wording and what is important. But the older generation isn't properly exposed to it. So they fall for the tricks more easily.
Especially if the news holds on to their world view, and doesn't try to challenge them further. To the older generation this is good news, that they can share as part of their biological need to teach culture to the youth.
