a 3000 year old brain may have some differences. The last 3000 years a lot of crazy things have happened to civilizations, that caused a fare amount of changes in breeding policies, and cultural effects, diets. Roman Empire, Christianity, End Of Roman Empire, Dark Ages, Renascence, Spanish expansion, English Expansion, American Expansion....
We assume that ancient man was the same as us, if he was just born 3k years later he would just fit in fine... But that may not be the case. Perhaps with cross breading the Neanderthals we can see less a more predominate Neanderthal effects on the brain and body, that happened to reduce every few generations. Changes in Culture of Sexuality... A lot of thing could make the brains physically different then they are today.
Besides popular vampire books and whatnot... Holy water is just water that is considered by some to be Holy. There isn't any promise that it will cure you, or if you drink it it will cure cancer, it may quench your thirst.
In contrast Magic Items, Often come with a saying that it will do something, that is measurable.
Holy Water, Apply to self, as a sign of being purifying yourself in the eyes of God. vs. VooDoo Doll, put pins in areas to make enemy suffer.
Holy Water. There isn't any measurable result, the fact that God see you as purified or not is outside of the natural world and cannot be measured. VooDoo Doll. You can measure your enemies current level of suffering and see if there is a correlation of increased suffering in areas where the pin is placed.
So you wan't to add 10 years of development and bug fixing to make Kernel to do nearly the same thing as the other Kernels out there.
Most of these kernels are for general purpose. And they all need to do the following. 1. Memory Management. App 1 and App 2 are both running. lets make sure they don't use the same memory space. 2. Get App 1 and App 2 to multi-task. and Make sure one doesn't kill the other. 3. Interface with the hardware. So the programmers don't need to do System level coding for everything.
Linux was probably chosen because it has an active and large group of people who know more about the kernel and can make a custom OS around it. BSD would be my second bet. Windows is possible however Tesla would need to license and work with Microsoft. OS/X kernel is based on BSD anyways.
The Kernel isn't the OS. The Kernel is only part of the Full OS. That is why there is a difference between Google Android and GNU/Linux. OS/X and FreeBSD. In theory you could take the Windows Kernel and make an OS that isn't Windows.
The Kernel Handles a lot of the lower level stuff. And OS has a lot more then a kernel.
Not the Mirror Universe Episode. But starting from Episode 1. Bad Guys who have been genetically manipulated from a dude in the future to change history. Good guy from the future poses as a lowly crewman aboard Enterprise to protect his own timeline. A Temporal Cold War From Bad Guys Who can only give information to the past vs. the Good Guys who can actually go back and forth threw time. An entire season based on an attack from an Aliens from future dude who predicted bad news, that never really happened on base cannon episodes (and Future Good Guy Dude said it never happened)
Time travel episodes of Star Trek are popular. However when you base a series on it, and place it 80 years before time travel was discovered, really makes it too unbelievable.
Perhaps it would had been a better story in a different Universe where there is some sort of devices that Leaps people threw time using Quantum Technology. However our Hero, got stuck and needs to change the future for the better. He can have a Wise Cracking Admiral who is his best friend and appear to him as a hologram that only he can see, that will help direct him to figure out if he had changed the future or not. Oh we can have a punchline at the end of the episode where he jumps into a different body every time and he goes "Oh, Boy!"
Actually, I got it preinstalled with Linux from Dell... I tried upgrading it (because the wi-fi was extrealy slow) and now I got faster Wi-Fi but less display.
Yes, Judges become judges so they judge the exciting world of Patent Ownership rights.
She is probably just pissed at the entire case, and trying to do her best to keep fair headed.
Apple is strong on these patents because of apples previous history. They made the Apple Macintosh, they didn't file all their patents, and got eaten alive by their competitors.
Samsung is trying to keep their products innovative and new. And a lot of apples patents are not really as impressive as Apple says.
To be a Judge where you are probably more interested in making sure every one get fair justice. These cases seem like petty bickering over nothing. However there are laws on the books and need to be followed.
How much unlearning will you have to do. Will it be worse then learning.
Just compare our culture and understanding with life 30 years ago. We will be programmed with the latest and greatest Disco Dance moves, The threat ingrained in your system from the USSR. The process of learning is the process of change. Our Text books from a generation ago is rather different then todays text. Things have changed.
I found that Enterprise was worse then Voyager. But it is a tossup.
Voyager stupid idea for a plot, but at least is wasn't a copy of Gilligan's Island (I was worried they will have a new fangle way to get home every episode and fail at the list minute).
Enterprise had a good idea of the plot, but they got too much time travel and alternate Universe crap in it. I would much rather see, much lower Warp factors. (Max warp of 3) No Klingon's, more with the Romulan War, and a little more about getting the federation together. I did like the Andorrans.
So we got Bad Plot, and did the best with it. Vs. Good Plot totally messed up.
If they offered a Mag Lock type of technology, I think I would be a bit more interested. If they are just getting a smaller connector you might as well use what everyone else has.
That is what I was thinking. A lot of these free courses are from "students" who never did real college coursework. For almost all my work in college it took me about of the quarter of my time making sure my papers have everything is properly referenced and in my own words.
In high school, they just said, don't copy without references.
Now for research papers this is the following methods. 1. Wikipedia/Encyclopedia - This is not research, but preresearch. It just gives you a direction to go. (General idea what the topic is about), this gives you an idea where to go for the real research. 2. Secondary Sources/News articles - From trusted sources, these start giving details that you need. When you learn something new (keep note of it) 3. Primary Sources - If you can get to them, these are gold.
Hush! There are too many Linux Fanatics on this site who will refuse to believe that Linux has problems, and that Apple and Microsoft had resolved some of those problems a while ago.
But to be fair Linux has resolved other problems that OS X and Windows have currently a long time ago too.
For some reason Different Systems seem to work differently... how odd.
I am not seeing EVIL apple. I just see it this way. Apple wanted to release a product with a better display, and with a bunch of the newest technology in their product so they can market it as better then their competition (We still think competition is a good thing right?). Apple isn't bound to supporting Windows or Linux so they modified their OS to handle the new technology.
Other companies like Dell and Lenovo will need to choose hardware that Microsoft or Linux supports. So oddly enough these PCs run Linux better.
Which is useful, because it lets us see things in a more familiar frame of reference. Under the Mars Atmosphere things will look more alien to us making normal stuff seem worthy of extra interest. Making the images more earth like, will help us point out what things are more interesting to look at and what to ignore.
Because the next set of PC's will have more tablet features in them. For Most People. You buy a computer and you keep your OS version for the life of the computer. If it came with Windows 7, the PC was designed to run Windows 7... You stay on Windows 7 until you want a new computer.
Now after Windows 8 comes out, you will fine more and more PC's with multi-touch screens. (I myself have a Lenovo 220t, with Windows 8 RTM on it, and the interface is really nice and I like it better then Windows 7), because windows 8 supports it it means more PC manufactures will use it. Thus Microsoft tying to make multi-touch better.
This Windows 8 Touch Screen seems like the same debate 20 years ago, when PC's started to ship with a Mouse as a common device. It started out as a toy, with only a few applications that used it. While Apple had the mouse common, the PC was mostly still Keyboard, CPU, Monitor. Then when Windows 3.1, Most PC's started to come with a mouse standard, as well the applications for Windows started to use the mouse more. There were a ton of people who hated it, and we still get the debate today. However it is a case of Software that Drives the hardware. So when you next Laptop/Tablet/PC it will probably be reconfigured to be used as a touch device.
You are under the impression that this guy is that much hated. He is a political annoyance, not a massive threat. I am willing to expect he will live his life out in Ecuador... Until he realizes he hates it... This stuff happens all the time. Chinese who take refuge in American embassy seem to be able to get to the airport and make it to America. There usually isn't that big of a push to create a major incident out of a minor one. Shooting down a guy whos goal is to leave the country in care of an other one. Means attacking that other country.
How much news about US involvement about Assange from reliable sources are you getting? Other then the crazy comments our Representatives and Senators spew out every once in a while (But they say something stupid, or threatening every freaking day).
If Assange steps foot in America, I am sure he will be arrested. But that is the same for a lot of countries. But I don't see a massive man hunt for him. Or even labeling him as a terrorists.
I am OK with technology helping police do their jobs. The problem I have is their bosses (Government) sees fines as a source of income, Thus tries to setup laws in a way that makes it easier for people to break laws.
I haven't been in trouble for the following, but I found myself in the violation by mistake though. Driving without an updated registration. What happened I moved, I changed my address for my license... However the DMV doesn't take you change of address for your license and apply it to your registration so when it was up to renewal I never got the paper work, then I realized after looking at my registration that the month was too late. Now with license plate readers I would expect unlike my address records the licence plate reader will be better integrated, then the worst part I will get a fine in the mail months, or years after I was driving illegally.
We even had a case in my City where people were getting Traffic Tickets Years after the incident because of automated readers just because the state hadn't got caught up with the paper work, and the City was short of cash so they just started giving tickets out, for violations that were years old.
Fines for breaking the law shouldn't go to the government, it should go to the victim(s) or if there aren't any then it should go to an approved charity of your choosing (without a tax deduction) Perhaps then when making new laws and regulation they will focus more on the greater good then making it so people will find ways to collect money.
With a company as Big as Sony I wouldn't be surprised if there is a guy who Works there is part of Anonymous. Oh I need to do maintenance on the server today. While he is doing maintenance plugs in a USB Disk... (Heck an iPod or a Cell Phone could hold the data) and copies the data down.
And how Dare people who do not have the same political priorities and views of you not alter their lives to match you views. "Freedom for speech just as long as you are saying what I want to hear!!!"
Art for the sake of Art, is an other way to say, I get paid to make crap (sometime literacy). Art to be visually appealing sure, Art to express an idea or view point that is good too.
But art that isn't appealing when asked what does it mean, you get some vague answer like what do you think it means or it is art for art. That is just being lame.

Perhaps it could have a Universal Bus that can send data perhaps Serially.
