Really? Couldn't you have come up with something that actually makes a little bit of sense? Maybe something like a doctor being called in to the emergency room, or an ambulance driver taking a call on the radio to get directions to an emergency.

Let's not forget that between the two companies they own near half of the commercial content itself. This gives them even more power to kill off services like Netflix because now they can easily and safely deny nearly half of the possible content to them on top of throttling the hell out of their connection to 2/3's of the country.
This would be more efficient with a small electric motor running the hydraulics than directly off the engine. The electric motor only needs to run when there is work being done where the engine is constantly running and either pushing hydraulic oil on a bypass or continuously engaging and disengaging a clutch, which also takes energy.
There is a major problem with that. What if they encounter intelligent life while they are out? The chances are very small that this will happen, but any chance is too high. If the first contact a highly advanced civilization had with us was with a politician we would be immediately exterminated to prevent our spread throughout the universe.
Or we could just call them Americans, or gasp, maybe even humans/people.

Let's face it dude, people are hypocrites. This is especially true when interacting with people of a different group, be it male/female, black/white, or rich/poor. Someone of a different group than you will almost always view something that both of you do as perfectly fine for themselves to do to you, but a terrible sin for you to do to them.
What I want to know is why everyone is so worried about continuing the human race. What is so important about it? Where does this obsession with having the human race be eternal come from?

Before that the recording company took nearly all of the money from CD sales then imposed massive recording and marketing fees on the band which often exceeded their share of the CD sales.

For example, not everyone in Mississippi wants a ban to contraception, if they did nobody would even think about in the first place because nobody would be using it. The vast majority of people in those states are horrified by the idea of it, but they are not clamoring for a law against it. Why, you may ask, because there aren't a bunch of people out there having sex with their livestock, so the thought never occurred to them to make a law to prevent it. This is how it works everywhere, if there is a vast consensus about some moral ideal there will not be a law to enforce it, because there doesn't need to be.
When you see people clamoring to pass some law you can guarantee that the majority is against it. It is just a very loud minority which is trying to dictate the morality of everyone else. If they were allowed their way the majority of the state would be very unhappy about it.
I think you are failing to see the point. These are historical references to people who brought extreme harm to their populations. The quotes are them telling others that they could not have accomplished that harm without first disarming the population.

I suspect that this is one of the main reasons many religious people hate and fear us so much(In many polls Christians hate atheists more than Muslims). I suspect this is also the reason so many immediately assume we are devil worshipers, since they cannot understand not believing in a god and we won't give them a satisfactory answer as to who we worship they assume the worst.
I don't know about others, but I have a similar problem. I was not indoctrinated into any type of religion when I was a child, so I am incapable of understanding the belief in a god. No matter how hard I try I cannot wrap my mind around the concept.
Any religious people out there have any opinions on this?
