If you think you are doing a good job on regular 80 hour a week death marches for your job... I have news for you.... your not. You are probably producing negative value working like that and burning yourself out early (the real reason why so many people leave the industry, burnout).
Maybe its regional but here in New England I have mostly worked with software engineers who are over 40. Only recently have I worked on teams that had more members under 40 (barely) than over.
So these days the world is full of these fremium apps and yet somehow that is apple's fault and not the fault of the people making the apps?
Why not sue the developer, you know, the one that made the app, created a (presumably) deceptive money making scheme and made all of the actual money from these purchases.
Please post a recipe. I would love to give something like that a shot. If nothing else it will make good research for other crazy IPAs that I want to make.
You miss understand. He has no idea what you mean by chalk and cheese. You might want to stay away from phrases like that if you want to be understood on the internet. Not everyone has the same cultural background that you do and while they may speak english they are not going to be familiar with all the same idioms that you are.
You know, I'm really good at what I do. I was just able to find a job in very little time without looking particularly hard. Still, when the economy is tough I am a lot less likely to jump ship. I think its human nature, even when you are good. Maybe not everyone is like that but it seems like lots of people are.
Plus, location does matter, here in Boston the market is definitely stronger for software developers than it is in many other places.
If the return on that time is not as profitable as the return on, say, developing new games for iOS, then it really doesn't matter if 5% covers development cost unless you are doing this for the love of android. This guy is probably trying his damnedest to make a living developing mobile games and he is going to take the best profit for his time he can get.
If he makes a better return on his time developing new games for the iPhone than he makes supporting old games (or porting games) to android then it makes more sense for him to develop for the iPhone.
I don't have to search. I am an Apple developer and while they do in fact change their APIs much more regularly than many windows developers are used to they also deprecate stuff well before they do so and if you keep up with it (i.e. check your compiler warnings from time to time) you usually know when it is coming.
Now sure, from time to time shit will break but chances are you are using it in a non standard way and you certainly could have tested your code with a pre-release version of the OS which would have been available to you if you were actually an iOS developer.
To be fair, if your application is fairly standard and isn't a 3d game for instance you aren't going to suffer as much with the diversity of devices. Chances are testing on a few will cover you fairly well and you will address outliers as they come in. With something like a 3d game you are going to need to test on a much wider variety of devices.
Yea and on windows it makes for a good return. If there was a good return on development time for Android these game developers would still be on the platform, but they aren't making enough money to justify the cost.
The same argument made for not developing games for the mac and only for windows actually.
Plus, it is a fuck load easier to brew up some nice mind altering alcohol if you are an agrarian society than it is if you are a mobile group of hunters and gatherers.
I wonder if that works. I'll tell you this, ethanol goes bad a lot faster than regular gas. I used to be able to go a winter without stabilizer in my bike but now with ethanol it is a necessity, I'm even tempted to drain it every year and refill. Burning off that tank each year is a bitch, even with stabilizer. It just fails to perform.

If nobody is reading those docs thats a problem with your organization, not your architect.

yea, and working those hours only exacerbates their lack of experience with stupid mistakes as they slowly burn out.
Thanks, but I'll take a well rested experience programmer at 8-9 hours a day over some kid working 20 hours days and fucking up for 18 of them.
What he need to do is learn how to end a story.

(2) Have a nice brunch

Yea, but I'll be the competing standard isn't so royalty free.

Eh, I've been denied access to a country for less than that.
I would think the biggest question here is, has Nokia also offered its patents on its design royalty free.
Seems to me it would be worth what it costs to replace, which does not include the subsidy.
Seems pretty simple, if a $500 camera would be a felony so would a $500 iPhone. Subsidized or not it isn't actually free.

You really don't know a whole lot about mobile game development do you?

Seriously, this shit is not that hard to manage.
Yea, people pay money for games on PCs. Thats whats missing

I only have one server, so I call it Mother.
The laptop is Ripley.

That movie had the hottest lesbian sex scene ever... at least until you realize one of them is david bowie
