there was a time when even the most successful of cartoonists would not be in a higher tax bracket than I am.

America is far too self centered. A guy with one of the coolest, lowest pressure jobs around makes a pile of cash and is worried about how much the government is going to take from him. At no point in this does he realize how amazingly lucky he is to be able to pull down 6 figures as a fucking cartoonist.

It might be used as the basis for a new study though. Hopefully one that will cover both men and women.

yea, your not likely to get all that far explaining this here in this forum.

I know that I do not tend toward monogamy (despite the decade and a half spend trying to pretend differently) and yet I don't sleep around. I don't troll bars looking for horny women and I don't jump into bed with strangers. What I do is form long term committed relationships with more than one person.

Unfortunately when people read about this, what the imagine is the guy who is at the bar every night taking home a different women. Now its possible that both that guy and I lack this same gene (or not) but we both make very different choices about how we live our lives.

It would be a lot more interesting though if this study was applied to women as well. As it stands now this just sounds (to most people) like misogyny backed up by science, but if you had a study of both sexes you wouldn't have people talking about men cheating or having harems... you might have people talking about polyamory.

While your right that Psystar is violating the EULA and that its not clear if the EULA is enforceable I do not believe that is the core of Apples case (mostly because they don't want to find out that their EULA is unenforceable).

I believe they are suing because Psystar modified and redistributed the software updates from apple which is a violation of copyright law. Apple didn't sue them when they first shipped units with OS X installed they waited until they had distributed a modified software update for just this reason.

I believe they might be able to force Psystar to enact a recall since the units are "defective" since they cannot take security updates from apple. I do not believe that either party will be able to force users to give up their machines.

Then again, given that these people have machines that cannot be updated, wouldn't you rather get your money back than have a machine that wont ever get another software update?

Actually its not clear that this is what apple is suing over. It appears that what they are suing over is that Psystar took their updates, modified them and redistributed them for commercial gain without a license.

I suspect that they waited for just this reason. They are going after Psystar because they modified and redistributed patches from apple and not because the installed OSX on non Apple computers.

If they went after them for installing OSX they would eventually be going after those who did it themselves and thats not profitable or good for business. After all Psystar would just stop offering the install service and people would just do it themselves.

By going after Psystar for the update they cut off any support or upgrades for these machines which makes them a lot less desirable regardless of who installed the OS.

1)has trouble conceptualizing complex algorithms or

    2) has trouble dealing with the minute detail that coding requires.

neither of those mean that he doesnt get the basic ideas behind CS.
