Then what about "we didn't know they were robbing the bank so we are not in fault" this doesn't work because TPB were indeed the individuals who made a door in the first place, and with that creation bares a responsibility of who goes in and who goes out.
So by this logic, the bank shares in the responsibility for the robbery too? (id est, they shouldn't have made a front door?)
Actually, yes, they are responsible for security, but 95% (made up number) of the blame falls to the person doing the robbery.
Here, Here, between 10 and 15 I put in a lot of time self-studying computers (old (2/3)86 machines that people gave away), and generally excelled in school. But when 16 came along, it was time to start working if I wanted anything, all thew way up through my 4 years so far in college. Needless to say, my progress has been less than stellar. Partly my own fault, partly because after working 20 hrs a week outside of class to pay for college, the less-than-fascinating classes take a hit.
I thought insurance companies helped pay for regular checkups and the like because it helped prevent worse illnesses that would potentially be much more costly?
That sounds pretty good, but the EZPass systems here in PA mostly require you to slow to about 15 MPH. Only Express EZPass I've ever seen is near the shore points in jersey.
If you had content (a song for example) that was a method for you to put food on the table, you would be thinking differently about copyright laws.
See, now here's the funny thing about trade: Things are only worth what people will pay for them, irregardless of "illegal" methods of acquisition.
It just so turns out that it is soooo incredibly cheap to reproduce recorded music/movies, and EVERYONE knows this, and so people see copies as little value. As such, they find the cheapest way to acquire it.
If the "MAFIAA" wants to make money, they need to find something people are willing to pay for, and provide it at a reasonable, non-law enforced price. This could be live performances, have the actors perform live in plays and stop producing films, etc. But since they don't do this... it must be sufficiently profitable.
If it is sufficiently profitable to motivate them to keep on doing it, they should STFU about piracy.
Not to mention.. hasn't ANYONE heard of a library??? You know, that place that practically every town has that might have a computer you can use for a while for FREE?
And those people should NOT be on the internet, and should NOT be using computers. Computers are not toys. We only allow trained, licensed people to drive vehicles, and specially trained & licensed people to drive large trucks, because while doing so they may cause harm to other people or property. The same is true of the internet. A modicum of understanding of computers should be required in order to purchase internet service. Just the basics, files, folders, executable files, the dangers involved in the internet, etc.
Now, I think that actually requiring a license would be a bit over the top, but at the very least it should be considered societally irresponsible to use an internet-equipped computer without a basic understanding of computing.
From the article you linked: "Like the lower courts, the Roberts majority said the mistake arose from negligence rather than a deliberate effort to deprive Herring of his rights."
WHEN THE HELL would anyone ever ADMIT that they were deiliberately trying to deprive Herring of his rights? This statement is worthless as intent of law enforcement is very difficult to prove wrong.
Yano, the weird thing is, it doesn't matter how musically complex or different a particular artist is, if the song doesn't stick in a person's memory, it isn't timeless. If the feelings envoked by the words and lyrics together don't resonate a with a commonly understood emotion that everyone's hearts and minds and beings can empathize with, it doesn't matter. The beatles made a LOT of music that no matter what year it is, will evoke sympathetic feelings in the human mind, heart, and being.
Look, i'm sorry, but my 16 yo cheerleader sister loves the beatles, if only because of the movie "Across the Universe". Just because it isn't the hoity-toity Mozart (which i think is rather boring, btw) doesn't mean it isn't timeless.
On a side to that I don't think that in 20 years "And the sweat drip down my baaalllsss... all these bitches craaawwwlll...." is gonna be near as remembered and well liked as the beatles will be in 20 years, let alone mozart.
Wouldn't a simple, effective system be to label the cards in hex (for large count, but small number of symbols) and use a journal to 'label' them. Example:
Label the cards 00 to FF for 256 cards This way only two characters are needed to label the cards, allowing larger writing, making them easier to identify.
Then use a spreadsheet (printed out) to associate card with Shoot Date, Location and Client. Erase the line on the spreadsheet once the card is uploaded. This eliminates the need to write and erase (with marker/pencil) in the card itself, keeps the cards organized, and whenever your paper spreadsheet wears out, you print a new one.
And of course, store them in small boxes sorted either perfectly or at least by range (groups of 32: 00-1F, 20-3F, 40-5F, 60-7F, 80-9F, A0-BF, C0-DF, E0-FF)
not to mention, GUI tends to change more frequently than the CLI and to best explain GUI operations one needs screenshots, which use more bandwidth, storage space and need to be kept up to date if the GUI changes at all.
Working the tech desk at a university, I saw a relatively new vista laptop which had BSODd 12 times in the course of a week. I didn't end up working on the machine, But there was reportedly a correlation with using the built-in webcam.

probably sarcasm, but they posted anon to avoid the inevitable troll mod. (And NO, i did not post it)
Or to just take those tornados for a ride to Oz...
I was under the impression that The Pirate Bay was loosely affiliated with The Pirate Party, and thus the pirate bay is an apt title

I wonder why the command prompt use the Local Settings reparse point, but the shell can't.
Probably to prevent new software from using that location? That's my best guess.
I have one thing to say to this N ew I mproved I nternet... Nii!!... Nii!! Ni!!!
Well, if you've backed everything up first, you should be just fine! :P Good luck, and I hope it all works/worked out for ya!

Ditto, just got dumped on monday after 13 months.

FairUse4WM... indefinitely! Else about two weeks.
Well, I've developed a multi-touch system that uses your fingerNAILS instead of your fingerTIPS!

Having the goal that noone should die in a volvo is not to be laughed at but commended.
Stating "No one will die in this Volvo / This ship is unsinkable" is just folly.
