I just don't see why you would buy something for $100 from a designer label when you can buy something without a name on it for $4. I mean, the amount of marketing that has to go into this must be insane! It would be one thing if the big fancy labels used legitimate, well-paid, non-sweatshop labor to make these things, but I don't see that happening.
OMSI is excellent, but I really have to recommend The Evergreen Air And Space Museum. The Spruce Goose itself is worth seeing, but the incredible collection sitting literally under it's wings is what makes it fun.
My wife and I got to the DC area and took in the Smithsonian last year, including Udvar-Hazy - It was incredible, but really didn't compare in many ways to Evergreen.
I've always felt that perhaps we really do look for Astronauts in the wrong place. It seems to me the modern space traveler should come from submariners rather than pilots.

On the good side - at least the actual bandwidth usage IS much smaller than the average day of real mail. Of course, when that changes, and spam becomes a bandwidth problem... it will get fixed, one way or another. Businesses can deal with annoying spam, but when they really end up paying hard cash for their bandwidth, things will change.
I think 'programmers' are much to diverse to think that we need anything like this. I read somewhere that Air Traffic Control has English as the 'official' language, so that global flights maintain communication clearly, but I'm not sure we have to worry about that with coding.

IMO, Apple is a solid company with a tendency to be over-protective, over-aggressive, and over-bearing. That is how they stay in business in the long term, because the technology and ideas really only last so long before someone comes along and improves it.
I'm an Apple user, but that's a choice I make knowing that in the end, there really isn't all that much different between Apple and MS, other than that MS is watched closer by those in power.
This study was done on terminally ill cancer patients. My wife is an RN, and in our discussions about her job it has been very apparent to her that death by cancer, slowly, causes a very different reaction in most people she has seen than other terminal illnesses.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the study, but I would like to see it expanded to, for example, heart/lung failure and other forms of terminal disease, and see what the difference is.
One aspect that I have seen in cancer end-of-life treatment is the heavy reliance on pain-killers to cope (nothing WRONG with that, just an observance). This could also have a very serious effect on EOL decisions.
I am NOT an artist, photographer or other graphic professional, but I have had serious need to act like one in my job.
I didn't want to buy a giant commercial package, because I didn't need that kind of investment in occasional products. The Gimp to the rescue!

I'm an American. I believe in the principles of my country. I also believe that everyone deserves a level of respect, until they show me a reason not to.
A police officer, a cashier, a gas station attendant, no matter what color, race, religion, etc. will get a 'sir' or 'ma'am' from me until they choose to not respect me, or do something that is disrespectful.
I'm really sorry if that bothers people, but I really recommend people try it out. It's amazing what kind of payback you get. Too many people out there never get these small recognitions of their humanity. I have never understood those who feel that they are too important or too special to respect others.
My biggest concern here is that the courts could have the ability to decide that a business model, in ANY business, is wrong.
This is really what is on trial here. Apple says one thing, Psystar says the opposite, hey that's what courts are for. But the fundamental point here is that this has the potential to lay waste to the basic Mac business model.
Whether you like or hate Mac, this has to be somewhat concerning for any company.

We had one brief period of downtime on one customer related to a bad configuration of the admin server (my fault, still I guess it could have been clearer).
Performance is overall quite good, even on older machines. On newer machines, people don't even notice that it's running.
I admit though, I'm irritated about the issue of the original post, which has NOTHING to do with the product itself. Sounds to me like their entire web dev team needs a serious overhaul, or at least a few more night classes at the local community college;)

Personally, I'd love to find a way to point out that this is just 'a silly democrat thing' - but it has nothing to do with his politics.
Someone (probably in the DMV) sold him on this idea, in the thought that they can bilk more cash out of an unsuspecting populace. Trust me, right now they are stressing the 'we aren't tracking you' idea, but if this goes through, someday down the road that too will come about, in the interest of public safety.
This is a governor that set us up to require a prescription for OTC allergy medication because a tiny percentage of the population makes drugs with it.
The biggest issue in all of modern US government, and my state in particular, is the eagerness to threaten to cut the important services to try to push the tax paying public to shell out more. Of course, the choices of 'important' can vary.
I mean - if we can get businesses to supplement education funds in any way that is not a rise in taxes, why not?
I think we could put ads on School Buses and more of this type of stuff - sure, have some oversite, but lets get some money where it belongs without forcing businesses and citizens to raise taxes.
