    Until about a week ago, repeal of DADT was a dead issue because it was tied to bigger bill concerning military policy. Obama diddn't do jack squat to move the thing forward, but Senators (Rep and Dem) worked out a way to isolate this issue to move it forward, and this is the result. Google news pieces on this.

    Like I wrote, Obama did squat. The guy wouldn't know leadership if it elbowed his jaw.

    Here is a great niche for free software - module/plugin to throw off tracking. I'm guesing it'd be bit like virus signature chasing, but maybe bit easier.

    I would cook up something along this line on my spare time, but I haven't touched webapps/ecommerce for a few years and not familiar with the current tracking techniques...

    - Replacement JVM, like Apache Harmony, disallowed through definition of "product"
    - Can't be used in embedded, phone, etc.

    The awful thing is, medical research relies so heavily on stats, one of the most subtle and delicate branch of math, compounded with difficulty due to limited sample sizes, handled all by these life science guys and gals.

    You know, when I first read Catch-22 - i.e., lose on every unit, but make it up in volume - I thought it was a goofy joke, and it was.

    But then I was taught about chip foundry, and realized it made sense perfectly, in a way.

    There is no loyalty between employers and employees, and that's been the case for a few decades now. It's everyone-watch-yo-own-ass, like the Wall St. mercenaries.

    Time to consider employment contracts like they do for investment bankers.

    Digital/computer stuff has gotten quite cheap, but decent quality MIDI controllers - i.e., mechanical interface - remains bit pricey, even with Chinese manufacturing, especially for student budget.

    Of course, compared to before, you can set up pro quality recording setup for fraction.

    Which uni did you work with?
