Which is the tactic of the global warming "skeptics."...
There you go again. Can't make your case properly, so resorting to name calling and us-vs-them bullshit - that's so not how the creditability was built for science.
Right, if one variable out of thousand variables moves according to the model, it's a "win" for the model.
I assume you're reasonably familiar with the main models?
Maybe you can be more persuasive if you can nail down the major predictions. I mean, calling it "climate change" is like saying "time-moves-forward". No one's disputing either - what exactly are the specific potential problems being predicted whose catastrophic nature requires us shifting trillions of dollars?
I agree with you: as tempting as it is, rewrite is rarely the optimal solution, but sometimes, that's just what's called for.
Making the case, though, is another thing altogether. At the least you have to understand the current code base, which can be a substantial work all by itself. And then make a case in a form that carries weight for the audience (i.e., management). Here, I think many of us end up hustling because software engineering still is not a mature formalized discipline yet.
I've had Cox for coupla months now and I find it pretty hassle-free. Call their number, a person answers quickly. Phone and ISP service work as advertised. Their website seem bit flakey, but could be my browser setting. And no surprise in billing so far.
The other option is AT&T for my area, so it's no contest really, but I figure a little 'kudo' for decent business practice might not be a bad thing in this ocean of nasty monopolies.
Set up an execution environment with debugger, and run several typical scenarios and trace them with debugger. Get the feel of the big-picture execution scenarios/paths.
It will take time for your brains to get comfortable with it, though. And the details, when you look into them, will throw odd stuff at you. But that's the nature of our work.
"It's up to the police in this case to find out what what I made the money on. It's not actually an admission of guilt to report illegal income, because there is no specific information about what the crime was."
But that would go over really well with the jurors.

Didn't make this argument when it didn't snow much last few years, did they?
Goes to show you if you're really green, you'd be protesting at NHL offices and every hockey game. They're killing the planet! Hypocrites. ;-)

Yeah. Monopoly. It sucks.
Well, you made me grateful that AT&T is servicing the area.

Well, maybe not exactly Streisand effect, but you know what I'm saying...
But profitable.
If anything, this will boost SWA sale.
You see that dog? That's my dog crapping in your lawn.
I'll echo some earlier comments.

Damn. Mod my post down. I shouldn't have done such a name calling to a teen girl.
She didn't fess up until she got busted, didn't she? And that's the only reason why the other book is being bought, ain't it?
Was she saying she planned to get busted all along? The lying twit.
Al Qaeda should sue for patent infringement.
Yep, what the poet wrote. It's just another douche post from the douchespehere.
Gotta have a stomach to run such an outfit.
Nah, samzenpus remains the reigning douchebag among /. staff by far. What was I thinking.
And I fail to see how declaring illegal income prevents charges being filed.

This pretty much defines mental masturbation.
For what it's worth, this selection evens out your last 100 moronic selections.
Good one.
An interesting illustration of theory (how it should be) vs. practice (how it pans out).
Due to Apple Awesomeness (TM), Gx is equivalent to P(x+2), so just wait a bit.
"[AIX] unique among Unix flavors"
Hah. From my foggy memory, I am thinking VMS seemed more similar to typical UNIX than AIX. :-)
YOU DO NOT question the might of slashdot.
Or you may, possibly, be sorry. A bit.
