> Why isn't there a button "mark all fair" in metamod?
Uhh, because then you're less likely to read all of the options? And in a situation where you have impact on others, you should be forced to be more attentive, not less.
I've seen a driver that lets you use the NES Power Glove with your NeXT machine by connecting it through the DSP port. I don't know just how much you can do with it, but it always seemed like a neat idea.
It is low tech, that's the point. I'm a fairly high-tech person (use my Palm V a lot, take my PowerBook everywhere, etc.,) but there are many times where a small spiral-bound notebook really is the way to go.
Yea -- that really sucks. A friend of mine was using x.com as his primary bank, and really liked it. When, as he put it, "my bank decided it would rather just be PayPal," he had to get a brick-and-mortar bank and isn't nearly as happy.
I've been using paypal for several years now, though, and haven't had a single bad experience. It makes my life a lot more convenient.
Also, don't forget that the New World (ROM in RAM) architecture further moves the OS from the hardware.
And you're right -- with the entire bottom half of the OS being open source, anyone can wangle around with it and try and get it working on their hardware.
Uhhh...surely you're joking. Do you realize what wholesale chaos would ensue in the industry immedeatly thereafter? That's about the daffiest thing I've read in ages.
My drives used to be "Vyacheslav 9", "Vyacheslav X", etc., I just renamed them to remove the spaces (to make shell scripts work better, actually.) I'd have lost all of my data had I not done so. Wow.
I agree! One of my suggestions to Apple for OS X was a title bar widget to adjust window transparency. It could get hairy, but it could be really useful.
Transparent (really transparent) terminals in OS X are quite nice.
My guess -- though pretty simple -- is that Anakin will be cloned, and the clone will be "evil." It makes it easier to turn that nice little boy (as presented in 1) to Darth Vader.
That it's cheap is about the only reason I can see to get this thing. I'll stick with my Palm.
I Hate them and they are Wrong. And I Hate you for defending them.

Remember the 42" monitor one that was posted here? It turned out to be a TV from the local Best Buy =)
Check out fuckedcompany.com -- it's a good laugh.

Have you considered that a paper notebook might be the _right_ solution, no matter how awkward/stone-aged it seems?
I can't imagine how uncomfortable/awkward/dangerous it would be to have a wire running from your wrist to your ear, either.
Remind me which subtle references there were? Or did he fall on them all?
Did you notice that UPN jumped the shark with _both_ shows it got from the WB? (Buffy and Roswell -- a musical and a wedding, respectively.)
Yea, but I did that in 1993 with my Apple Scanner. It probably wouldn't have been news then, either.

It isn't easy, but it doesn't take a lot of vision.
The talking moose owned yoor world in 1992.
My understanding is that's how it does work. (Each package installs a receipt with a bill of materials.)
The problem could still have occurred if the BOM path was wrong ( Drive 1/iTunes instead of "Drive 1/iTunes") Just in a slightly different place.
Crap!

Flamebait? This is the most insightful thing I've seen on slashdot in years.

Hehe -- neither was the Kaiser =) Maybe voting for a new Weimar president, seeing how he wasn't the Kaiser no longer.
Bravo! I get most sick of people drooling that nobody should need any word processor than EMACS.
So, I guess you didn't see the last one. =)

How can they look for fair use, short of activating the QuickCam and scanning your room for CD cases?
