Just like most other businesses, they have the right to refuse service to anyone as long as its a legal reason. End of story. Each hand is a separate transaction, hence they can cut you off at anytime.
Is the author stupid? He really expects the PSP to match performance features of the PS3? THe reason the PS3 can background download is because it has multiple work units to process the data, including one dedicated solely to the OS. IM not THAT familiar with the PSP CPU architecture, even though i own one, but im pretty sure its a single core. Neither the Xbox 360 or PS3 supported background downloading at launch.
the ESRB shouldnt have to explain ANYTHING about player to player interaction, it has no control at all. It could be a blanket "The ESRB does not evaluate player to player interaction, we are not your parents."
I only mentioned current exclusives that i personally own. I too am counting the days to Uncharted 2. I was a bit disappointed when the demo came out and its just the same thing we had in the Beta testing. Was hoping for a single player demo like the first Uncharted had.
As an aside, i used to work right next door to Atlus' U.S. division. Id chat with the devs when they came out for smokes from time to time, we shared a delivery alley.
Uncharted, Killzone 2, GT5, Infamous, Time Crisis 4, Heavenly sword, Motostorm, Wipeout HD, Flower, Pixeljunk, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk.
Those are jsut the exclusives I own. I also have Halo 3, Gears of War 1 and 2, Shadowrun, both Fables, Project Gotham Racing 1-4, Ace Combat 6 and Perfect Dark Zero.
The PS3 exclusives IN MY VERY HUMBLE OPINION, are overall the better games.
Console exclusives are the unique experiences i was referring to. Cant play Uncharted anywhere else, and it was a thrilling experience. And before you start calling me an astroturfer look at my long history of posting on slashdot. Surprises me that someone with such a relatively low UID would talk such nonsense without looking at my history a bit better. Fuck you, im no shill.
SO now im an astroturfer becasue i applied logic to the problem of how to convert a physical UMD into a digital good. I didnt say they should do X or Y, i merely brought up issues with how such a system would work. Personally i think the PSP Go is an aggressive anti-consumer move to eliminate retailers and consumers from the second hand market, while at the same time cutting the cord to Sony's latest embarrassment of a media standard
Really? please point out the fanboisms. I said i like the PS3 but most likely wouldnt buy anything else from Sony. Considering I also own 2 360s, a Wii and a gaming PC, i dont really know how I could be a 'fanboi'. Thanks for your useless post though!:)
Exactly, I dont like Sony, but the PS3 is a unique experience, unavailable from any other vendor. Im probably not going to go out and buy a Sony TV, or cell phone or computer because there is ample competition and thre is nothing really unique about those items.
Only becasue if there didnt, they would have a class action judgment against them like never before. EVERYONE knows that microsoft KNEW the design was bad and went ahead anyways. THere is no doubt that microsoft would have had to do this or be FORCED into it.
AS much as I dislike Sony, Im not going to deny myself a fantastic piece of hardware for it. Im the one who loses, not really Sony. Now i probably wont buy a Sony TV, or pretty much anything else Sony, but the PS3 is a unique experience, with games that cant be had anywhere else.
I only bring it up because it had to be the very first thing Sony brought up when thinking about all this. I would love an excahnge program of some kind, but Sony doesnt work that way.
is the price you pay for digital storage. As of now there is no 'archival grade' way of digitally storing something. If you are storing digital data, you have to go through the rigmarole that we all do. Redundant backups, offsite storage, periodic and consistent data integrity checks and disaster recovery testing.
Just like most other businesses, they have the right to refuse service to anyone as long as its a legal reason. End of story. Each hand is a separate transaction, hence they can cut you off at anytime.
I think you would be wrong. Most players just want to play.

Ill take inconsistent pricing over arbitrary 'points' any day.
The 6 day war humbly disagrees with your opening statement.

Thats a lovely straw man you have there.
Which is an integral part of free enterprise. You cannnot have a sustainable free market without regulation.
Telco Central Offices have the electric generation capability to keep the landlines live with power, cell towers generally do not.

A criminal case like this would have to show malice, otherwise its simply a civil matter.

How does Sony allow you to copy the game from the UMD to your PSP, and still prevent you from giving the UMD away after the process? Please, do tell.

In this context, hes exactly right. No art is made from a void, no invention is solely the work of one man.
Laws are a function of human society, all law stems from man. Your statement is redundant
