So it ok in virtual setting (video game), but not a real one. Ok what about if he was in a holo-deck is it sick then? It seems to me you are arguing the ethics of this action by its graphical fidelity.
A Fuel Air bomb could do it. They are on the power scale of the smallest 'dial-a-yield' tactical nukes. At the very least it would kill every human inside via the reflective blast.
Consoles only approach PC graphics in the early stages of their life. Gears of War is FAR superior graphically on PC then 360, ditto Mass Effect. Crysis (with a top end setup) is YEARS ahead of console graphics. Im talking apples to apples here graphically. Pricing is another issue, but you get what you pay for.
Thank you for saying this. SO very annoying when im running out the door and i need to check last minute directions and upon clicking the FF icon i get presented with a "please wait while i waste your time" dialog.
I ran a 300 mhz pentium I 128 MB of ram as a living room webtop running XP up until about 3 months ago. Ran like a champ for its intended purpose. This wasnt stripped down XP either, once it was up and running with FF loaded it ran great. I messed around with nLite after it was already working, but i didnt see the need for a heavy strip down when the thing just worked.
I like some of the new features in FF3. Uberbar is ok, and i like how the password saver is now a small pop bar at the top instead of a full on, show stopping popup. I think they turned off session restore by default too.
Those Kworlds are decent? Does it work with BeyondV? I just grabbed a HVR 950 last night becasue in my motherboard upgrade I lost one PCI port. I had to replace a 150 with a USB solution. Just for kicks I hooked up the mast antenna not expecting much. BAM, I see the U.S. women's volleyball team win the gold, in the rain, in glorious OTA HD.
You cant start a studio without knowing first and foremost its a business. Their subscription model was horribly flawed and very few wanted to pay for it, especially when it was like $10 a month.
I had high hopes from the 'Diablo' team. They over-reached, and tried to introduce a crappy subscription system that no one wanted. Add to that the repetitive nature of the game and the EXTREMELY boring environments. They should have made a decent single player game, no subscription, end of story. They got greedy looking at Blizz and saying "oooo me too me too"
Why is it ok for the industry to bend the law, but not consumers? The industry pushes one way, we counter, its called capitalism. If you really think companies play by moralistic rules then you are naive.
"Piracy is ethically no different then employing illegal tactics to protect your market."
See i can make up silly little sayings too.
Its not physiologically addictive like heroin or cocaine. It still can be psycologically addictive, jsut like any other human experience. Food can be eaten in moderation or it can be a life destroying addiction. Its the person, not the substance.
Actually read an interview about this where they said they are integrating more Arena into this. Basically its the best of Q3 incl. Arena. They felt not enough people really got to see the Arena stuff the first go around.
The market is forcing a price check reality on these services. Why is it ok for a corporation to bend the law to control the market, but not the consumer? This is simple economics in action and morality ( as used in this particular discussion) is simply a tool used by those in control. Corporations have no morality, full stop.
Mass Effect has some really great moral choices.

A fuel air bomb is not a complicated weapon. It is several orders of magnitude easier then a nuke, with comparitive (on the low end) results.

Cant read a book that is currently under copyright aloud....
Where do we get off? Well first of all copyright is a SOCIAL CONTRACT, meaning society holds one end of your copyright privlege.
So why should an artist be rewarded for the bulk of his work being shit?
Just to add to this, morality is COMPLETELY subjective, even the devil has his own morals.
YOu dont think the flow of information and ideas across generations with no restrictions is unimportant?
didnt Prince just sue some woman becasue she put a clip on youtube of her baby dancing to a prince song?
Seems like they are getting really close with Valve, wouldnt surprise me to see the next Id game require steam.

Whats wrong with the spelling? Are you one of those nerds that get upset when someone uses MAC instead of Mac for an apple machine?

Kind of like how Steve jobs did at NeXT?

Someone can certainly make a rip off using the source code, they just cant call it anything close to quake.
