If they even show up - I got contested on unemployment for a 'layoff' I had. I had every reason to be fired, I was sick as hell and had almost died from an infected gallstone, and hadn't even called in sick! How horrid of me. Anyway... I went, and they never showed up to argue their side of the contesting. And it was soon after 9/11, so the benefits were drawn out to 9 months instead of 6. I found a job at the very very end of that 9 months, and have been happily employed every since.

    L. Ron Hubbard was a crank and sure... he may have been a pretty good typist, but he wrote pure drivel. The one and only reason any of his books enjoyed any sort of sales is because all of his Scientology drones were required to purchase as many of them as possible to keep them on the 'bestseller' lists. They are crap. :)

I remember one time when I was working as a security guard (pays for stuff while you're in college). Anyway, no one came in to replace me. As a security guard you can't just leave your post. Called in, they freaked out and said they'd get someone right on it. 8 hours later STILL no one came in to replace me. And this is after I'd worked a 16 hour shift the day before, and got woken up at 11:00 at night after only 3 hours of sleep because I was the only floater available to cover that shift. So I worked 40 hours in 2 days. How did they get around paying me any over time? That was the last time I worked that week. 40 hours/week = regular pay.

Actually given that most cds have tons of songs on em that suck, 200 tracks could come from 150-200 different albums. So you've got that one N'Sync song, and then that one Brittany song, and then that one J.Lo song... it adds up. Maybe that's what the music industry is thinking... Otherwise I can't make heads nor tails of it.

  12. Anger on More WTC News · · Score: 1

The anger I feel has turned cold. I want to find whoever did this, if it's bin Laden or whoever, and I want to find his friends and family and I want to bomb them. Not necessarily to death, just bomb the lower part of a building they are in so that flames start, and can't be quenched and the building slowly collapses. Then don't let anyone know if there are any survivors so that he can sit back and ask, 'Did my little girl make it out? Did my wife make it?'. I want him to feel that pain, that confusion, that dawning horror that maybe he lost something precious, and he'll never get it back. And then, slowly, over the course of many many days bring him tantalizing news, 'Oh... maybe one of them made it out... Maybe'.

Every time I hear a story of someone who was working on the 100th floor, who is missing, who may be in a hospital, may not, I feel this incredible sadness followed by cold rage. How dare they?!? How dare they do this?!? I want to give blood, I want to go to New York and help with the cleanup and rebuilding. I want to fly out to Afghanistan and find the ones who did this and make them suffer the same things I see on the television time and time again, 'Have you seen my son? My wife? My brother?'.

But I can't do that, and it wouldn't be fair to those friends and relatives. To do that would be to commit an act of terrorism, and that I would never want to do. That would make me the same as that cowardly shit hiding behind suicide bombers and suicide pilots.

I'm waiting to give blood because the bloodbanks are full. I will do it next week because blood is always a valuable commodity. I can't go out to New York because I have friends and family and a house and a job here. The act of terror was meant to disrupt the jobs and lives of Americans, and the fact that I'm here at work today means they failed.

At this point I had 0 online connectivity, so I really had nothing else to do. :) When I finally did get through to someone, found out what I needed to do... I did that and everything was golden. I don't mind waiting on hold if I get fixed after waiting. I also appreciate the poor folks who had to work weekends and such with calls coming in nonstop.

Why is our government holding this man against his will? Why have the FBI not been brought up on charges of kidnapping? This is basically what they are doing. They are holding him against his will in some cell somewhere. If there hasn't been a horrid miscarriage of justice somewhere, I would be surprised.
