Sorry "editors" but many of us have no clue what this article is about based on the two sentence summary about a guy and company I have never heard of. Perhaps a little more explanation would help?
I have no clue if you are a Mac user, but AppleCare is superb compared to many of the others I have read. From what I've read they are pretty flexible and don't usually take ever chance to screw you over. I'm strongly considering it when my 1year ends.
Its great to see the Nook being opened up to allow unsupported apps, but I wonder about the impact of free 3G will be if this hack is widely used. Will this lead to the Nook2 featuring even more DRM, or perhaps no 3G at all? I sure hope not, but considering that BN will likely take a lot of heat from the service provider I wouldn't be surprised to see abuse of the network leading to a more locked down future device.
WTF makes you think that was an American. I've heard those jokes from pretty much every type of European during my travels. Heck even Aussies are familiar with it.
Say what you will about the man, but his FCC seems to have significantly more teeth than the last administration's. Between this, the Verizon ETF, and the Gvoice/Apple thing they seem to actually be doing their job.
I was under the impression that in OS X maximize sized the window to the content. For instance if the thing is small it will not expand the window and fill it up with whitespace. Seems a bit smarter to me than having an overly large window. Of course if the content spans past the dimensions of the monitor then it will go full screen to try and fit as much possible in.
Dude what the fuck are you talking about? Clicking the search box gives me the option of about 10 different searches including Yahoo! Seriously get a life and stop being an Apple hating fool.
Lol. To quote an earlier post by you. What does it feel like to be retarded? Everybody knows the election was rigged. Every major election authority agrees. But hey apparently you need more.
Do they mean to suggeest that the only people who read papers and magazines are the people who publish them? If so this industry is in more trouble than I expected. Either way this is a moronic stance to take. Where does the customer come in?
Actually stats I have seen suggest the percentage is pretty close to that. Also let not forget that there are lots of illegal immigrants, students, and visitors. So yeah I'd buy 300 million.
Planet earth calling. Just wanted to let you know on this planet Comcast essentially gets monopolies either through contracts with cities or counties. Or by screwing with local providers and forcing them out.
Yes, but you must young if you have never encountered the problem of lost paperwork. Anybody older than 50 is likely to have had this happen at least a handfull of times. Digital covers this problem (if done right), which I'm pretty sure was a major element of the pitch in the first place. Efficiency doesn't mean shit when the info is already lost.
Seriously having a centralized database won't save time tracking down something vs a massive filing "complex" in the basement? I'm sorry but that is just bullshit no matter what the study says. Thats like saying I would be better off with a folder full of images as opposed to Picasa and iPhoto to help manage. Perhaps the time spent would similar if I were a retard or a caveman unfamiliar with a PC. But I assumed people in the medical profession had some semblance of intelligence. At worst a computer should be no less effective, and hey it lets you sit on your fat lazy ass too!
My son's system got hacked that way when his older cousin came over and the game he was playing did an update and his character was hovering instead of walking. Instead of asking me to fix it (it was a Nividia driver issue) he got some random stranger from Ohio. >
Ohio you say? You must be a terrible parent for not telling your kid to avoid anybody from that godforsaken place. I mean Ohio, seriously?
Uhh no its retarded and was modded funny as a result. Security through obscutiry has been debunked dozens of times. Mac OS for instane is pretty visable, but yet seems to have not even a fraction of the problems another major commercial OS does. And don't tell me there isn't a major bonus for being the hacker to really pwn OS X. I'm sure as a Windows troll you would give a nut for this kind of exploit just to prove this lame claim. Vista and W7 are a HUGE step forward, but don't pretend that the only reason everybody else is safe and Windows is a spyware dungeon is just based on marketshare.
I'm a green centric guy, not to the point of insanity, but like many Slashdotters I do my best. Sadly there is little I can do with advanced bulbs thanks to the terrible wiring my 200 year old home has. No matter the bulb it is likely to blow out early into its expected life. I've tried them all an they all burn out. Sadly this means I buy cheap. Yes I know I should upgrade the wiring, but that is very expensive. I can't wait to join the revolution, but I need to have some less finicky bulbs or a huge pay increase to do it. Until then I suppose I'm part of the problem and not the solution.

I don't know why but that made me blow Diet Coke all over my LCD. Thanks for the laugh... I think.
Jack Thomson is that you?!!?

Excuse me. Are you suggesting the French give up easy? Alright you win.
I'd love to know where you shop. No matter how much I bitch and whine they never take back my opened software.

It seems the mods have found these mystical marijuana syringes and are using them quite liberally.
Sadly the AC is right. *News* that matters ya know?
No debate from me. Their heir of authority to the foolish is enough.

Did anybody think to check the power cord?

Seriously. This is all I care about, not people randomly picking apart the admittedly stupid typo in the summary.
