Crysis came out in Nov 2007. The i7 is brand spanking new and hardly anybody buys (can afford) the 8-core. Please tell me this is a +1 Funny post. Nobody in their right mind would buy an 8-core CPU to play 3-4 year old games at 30+ FPS, or a year+ old game a 7.
I certainly see the point you are making, its valid, however I would never, as a company trot around how the fastest Intel CPU's available (just recently) with the most cores can produce a slideshow of Crysis at crap resolution and detail.
To think that anybody would want to run a DX10 game on an 800mhz no SSE CPU is insane, even considering the company involved. Perhaps for DX 7,8 and perhaps 9 games this might be reasonable (though not likely) but jesus, no thanks!
Sadly, never as long as the GUI works most Joe and Jane sixpacks will be just fine; and yes I do know about the Vista debacle but I think the point is still valid.
Just imagine the demo. "Here is the slooooow intel extreme, geez what a dog, they should be ashamed! Now check out the BRAND NEW straight out of the labs tech, this will blow your mind (cues 7fps slideshow). I know, I know, we do seriously kick butt.
This is awesome, I can finally run a game from last year at 7FPS on my brand new eight core machine that just came out a few weeks ago. Thanks MS! But wait, why not try the same thing on my 'ol 800 mhz P3 oh man does that baby have a whole new life!
I am thrilled, as a home user I think 250 gigs is the sweet spot for my laptop. While I certainly could fill more than that, I think that mark represents a reasonable amount of space for the average mobile user looking to ditch the problems associated with a spinning platter. I also expect the price to fall quickly, making these drive much more affordable in the near future. SSD is finally getting close to the masses.
So because Apple choose not to make a CDMA phone they are somehow locking people out. Get out of the USA and see CDMA is not worth developing for if you want to sell one model to the whole world. Oh and I forgot T-Mobile, untill a few months ago they literally had nearly zero 3G presence. I certainly would not bother dealing with them either until they build out their network, which the G1 is clearly starting to do. The other points you made are far more vaild, but you show your bias quite quickly with this rubbish.
Sounds good on the surface but don't forget that our diversity of religion and state keeps us from a one government 1984 kind of world. Sure we disagree sure every nation has it's share of assholes, but different views and ideas allow todays people to find a culture that works for them and helps provide balance.
how many of these people had real honost to god copies. I know on my system atxleast 30% of the games I buy refuse to run on my hardware thanks to the fuckers who push DRM. I buy lots of games. However I refuse to buy from mega DRM supporters. Honostly this is hard as a Mac gamer. But principle trumps all.
No you are correct it is not the "greedy capitalists" who push book banning, they love the left after the job GW has done and the massive anti- Bush books they can sell. No my friend it is the other half of the Republican party, the far right religious nutjobs who seek to ban. Please don't forget them, because they have allowed the moderate right the chance to take power, until Nov 4th that is.
Wow, ignorant. If you believe in capitalism as most of us do, you would understand why no one wants to live meagerly. I doubt many Americans are happy with the bottom of the barrel, thanks for proving my point.
House keys still lack "chips" which are RF encoded to unlock a door. On the other hand most car keys in last batch of years have a radio chip which is required to make the car start. I realized this when I had to spend $80 a key to create dupes of my Toyota keys last week. Ouch!
The problem here in the US is that we have been so toned to hate the commies that we are affraid of even common sence social concepts. The people running the country right now were bred to hate anything but bloody competition and look at where it has gotten us.
In the US we are supposed to allow the creation of corps who provide for the public good. Big oil raping our economy and resources certainly deserves to be reined in. Do you realize how many massive tax breaks they get that -we pay for-? Wake up my friend

I have some cheap as hell NVidia integrated that tells me a different story.
If so then why would they demo Crysis?

5 Comments in and its already Slashdotted. Time to upgrade the 'ol 486!
I'm not quite sure how MS doing this shit a few years ago somehow makes them better? Ahead of the curve perhaps but clearly not "better".

And people who would post such an assholish comment about any widely defined group of people aren't idiots?

Whoops, funny enough I did read it but didn't click the links. Oh well!
I wonder if there is any relation to another Spears with questionable judgement?
Right on! So many times our culture puts laziness and parental irresponsibility over the importance of real parenting.
Playing WoW is keeping him from working? In jail? SHould this man even have access to a computer considering his history of suing anybody or anything?

Not sure exactly what a secure key is, but I think you are talking about "chipped" keys which are current for almost any recent Asian or American car.
