So go ahead, use more than 80 columns. That's fine with me, actually; that way I'll know immediately that your code is a pile of shit without having to spend even 30 seconds actually reading it.
LOL so true. Another sign of incompetence is strange/unexplainable row spacing. Like for instance in the middle of code there are three completely blank rows with no logical reason for it. You guess they must have cut/pasted something, but didn't bother to clean up afterwards.
The odd thing is why are they using those in the first place? There are BSD versions of all those commands except groff (gzip, at least under OpenBSD, is BSD licensed).
Also, I don't know why they even include BASH, since ZSH is far better and has a non-GPL license.
I know I'd by a mac laptop if they made one with more than one button on the trackpad, and I'd be willing to pay quite a bit more than what I would for a similar PC.
Another big disadvantage of web forums is that you can't read them offline. The only way I have fuond to do it is to open all the possible threads I might want to read before I disconnect from the internet.
In Windows FF2 has never crashed on me, however on my Linux and FreeBSD desktops it crashes a couple times every day. I have the exact same extensions and configuration on all the machines. My friends have the same problem with Linux Firefox too. 1.5 never crashed on my on any systems, so I am hoping someone is looking into these stability problems w/the 2.0 version...
See, I tried this for a while (except it was with BF2). It just made me pissed off all the time if I wasn't near the top of the scores every round. And a lot of the time, I wasn't.
I don't know about the OpenBSD guys, but in my experience, Subversion is a total piece of crap. Even worse than CVS.
more aggressive? great! let's go kick some ass!

wtf are you going to do with a 12" screen? if your screen is that small, you might as well just use a cellphone instead (iphone).

Looks like AMD stopped paying their Slashdot advertising fees at the end of last year.

you do know that you can play tennis without a video game, right?

1997 called and wanted their dot bomb business plan back
Or just use Windows or OSX like everyone else so you can get actually get some work done.

portmanager is great too. I have been using it for a long time and it's never failed on me (which is more than I can say for portupgrade).
What about bash? I thought it was part of OSX? (WIndows user here)

just use your old pc
Look for 'nvi'. It's the default on *BSD systems, and I'm guessing it would be available for Linux too.
you could write a shell script to automatically generate par2 files for your backups.
personally, though, i think raid HD mirroring would be a better solution for reliability
The real question is why the hell Word needs temporary files to operate.

Don't like it? Don't buy it. You don't have a right to tell people what they can buy/sell.
