Yes, I have seen a Segway run. The stopping distance is limited by physics, not Segway magic beans. The platfrom the rider stands on is at just the right hight to strike a pedestrians shin just above the ankle. If the pedestrian has their weight on that foot at the time, the momentum of the segway will break their shin bone and make it stick out of the flesh of the leg.
If you want me to demonstrate this on you with a 65 lb sledge hammer which I will swing at 12 mph at your shin, please leave some contact info so I can catch up with you.
While I don't have a 67, I have had luck making up rechargable battery packs (which is what I assume the 67 has) by buying cordless phone battery packs, cutting them open, and soldering the batteries together to make a new battery pack with the right number of cells.
Take apart the old pack, and take it with you so you can match the length and diameter of the cells to what is available in the store.
Your bitterness, jealousy, and hatred toward whites shines quite clearly. You attempt to blame all your problems on others, and further you try to stereotype whites as being priviledged.
I'll give you this advice for free: When you have this much resentment and hostility towards whites, it is externally obvious and visible, within 30 seconds of your talking to a white person. In other words, the person you are talking to can sense you don't like them. And once they sense this, they are not going to be comfortable with you, they are not going to want to be around you, work with you, talk to you.
If you want to be treated like everyone else, then act like everyone else. Get rid of the chip on your shoulder, rid yourself of hate and jealousy for those who "had it easy". Talk to whites like they are YOUR equals, not some group that is "out to get" you.
Cause you know what? 99% of whites don't care what color you are. But 100% of whites can sense hostility, and will react to it in some way- fight or flight.
We must snuff out the Minority of people who refuse to help out Minorities. Clearly, they think impure thoughts and are a danger to the State. A Minority viewpoint on helping out Minorities must be rooted out of the ground, crushed at every opportunity, and incinerated like the evil, nasty, dirty, Minority viewpoint it is.
Which is why I never bother to go to any Snarky link. It's not worth spending 10 minutes paging thru the Snarky site to get 2 minutes worth of information.
I guess I admire the saint-like patience of the people who do read it though, so I can read the condensed version on/.
If we can prevent some little old lady from dumping her
life savings into options, why wouldn't we?
Because the $22 added cost is a real Nanny-Knows-Best tax that all of us would have to pay to theoretically protect hypothetical little_old _ladies_dumping_their_life_savings_into_options_on line.
If you are hell-bent on social protection, Little old ladies and online traders would both be financially better off if each trader payed $2 into "Little old lady protection fund" which was distributed to little old ladies.
The wholesale drugging of kids because you don't like the way they act is sick.
Do you somehow think kids and parents were unable to deal with the issues of growing up before this "miracle" drug was introduced?
Is it a coincidence that a scary new disease (Attention Deficit Disorder) was "discovered" that this new drug (Ritalin) was ready and waiting to "cure"?
It was common in the 50's and 60's to have adults on a constant dose of Librium or Valium to help them deal with "stress". It's a great way to sell drugs, but I don't think it benefits the patient in the long run.
I don't know if Ritalin is a scam, but I don't like the way the whole thing smells. And the American Psychiatric Association hardly has a blameless past. One might even say they have been guilty of a few excesses, if one looks at history.
If you increase the mass of the drive (add weight) or decrease the mounting stiffness (floppyer mounts) you can get the resonant freq. away from the driving freq. of the bass.
If you are worried about the bass freq exciting components inside the drive (making the heads flutter) then you would need to put the drive in a sealed (air-tight) box which is stiff enough to attenuate the base freq. you are worried about. The drive would have to be isolated with mounts inside this sealed box to avoid coupling the outside bass freq into the drive You could cool the box with a peltier device on the wall of the box, with a little fan on the inside and outside heatsinks of the peltier device.
In either case, you might want to download the catalog, in pdf format, from Barry Controls, who make a vast range of vibration isolation mounts.
Picking the right mount is not trivial, but the catalog should provide an engineering section giving you the equations and procedures for a first-order solution.
In general, the more displacement (range of motion) you can allow for the mount the better off you will be. I have used the wire rope mounts shown on the barry home page (upper right corner) and they have good charactaristics. They were expensive, but you could make a copy with some wire rope from the hardware store and wooden or aluminium end plates.
Yep. College makes you aware of how much you DON'T know, and that many things you DON't know are potentially important.
Later in life, that realization comes in handy, because you (hopefully) spend more time trying to figure out all the ramifications of a problem, (and your proposed solution) rather then just jumping at some solution that came in a shrink-wrapped box, or is being pushed by that comission-only sales guy in your office.
While arrogance and complete self-assuredness (or is that egomania) is sometimes succesfull and frequently amusing to watch, it more often results in spectacular crash and burn outcomes.
A company usually cares only about you doing the (very narrow) job you were hired for. They are not going to spend time and money exposing you to other knowledge which will not benefit them directly, today.
Hey Radio Shack! Thanks for the !Kew:;Katt. I'm dressing mine in a tiny penguin suit!
This package is more CAD then 2d graphics, (does solid models, shading, etc)
The download is free, but you have to fill out and send in the form to get an activation key. (actually a key for crypt). It took a few weeks between sending in the form and getting the key back, I assume they make some check to see you are who you claim to be.
I have it running under Linux and it is very powerful, a full 3d and solids cad package. It is particularly good if you want to draw something to an exact size rather than just screen position. (ie, if you are going to do CAM off of your model) It has the ability to continuously rotate/translate your 3d model, so you can do fly-bys etc.
You will have to RTFM and the demos to get started using it.
Why in the hell are you migrating your software to a dying platform?
Windows may be in lots of places right this moment, like Buggy Whips were in 1902, and it might have made sense to do this 10 years ago.
The future now is clearly in an Open OS of some type, and your company could get a big jump on competitors by migrating to a platform of the future, not the past. Furthermore, if your company fails to provide to the Open OS market, you leave a void which will be filled by free software, and your companys products will become marginalized.
Printing may be a bear for you to set up, but a semi-skilled sysadmin should have no real problems with it. Seems like a lame reason not to use Linux.
Don't worry about the spelling. An inability to spell will give you a veneer of authenticity as a techie:).
If you are starting off, the manuals that come with the RedHat boxed set will give you a start. It helps in general if you have some familiarity with using a command line, in any other operations system.. VMS, dos, whatever.
Books I thought were helpful..
Red Hat Linux Unleashed, Sams publishing
Running Linux, O'Reilly
Learning Gnu Emacs, O'Reilly
The book with the most potential as you get more familiar with the system is perhaps a reprint of all the Howto documentation. I have the "Red Hat Doctor LINUX, The complete Linux reference documentation" which I originally ordered from RedHat.
I don't know if this book is still put out, and obviously the online howto get updated while the book does not.
However, skimming all the howtos gives you an idea of what commands exist, what they are called, and a little of what they can do. I'm not suggesting you memorize them! With a little study, you will begin to see that the people who put *NIX together were suprisingly clever, and things have been constructed in a logical and workmanlike manner. There isn't much emphasis on flash or glitter.
But Beware.. If you get good at using Linux, or any *NIX, (or VMS for that matter, though VAXes are not something you tend to find by accident these days) you might develop a contempt for the expensive cheezyness called windows. You will then be labeled a Zealot by those who think bill gates invented computers and al gore invented the internet.
Don't say I didn't warn you:)

Prostitutes are generally clean and friendly.
And, as a side note, It is nearly impossible for an American to get a work permit in most countries.
What?
When did we start talking about MCSEs?

Check out the matrox closeout/discontinued store section too, they have nice deals on older cards.

That's why I support the death penalty for drivers who speed, fail to use their turn signals, or park without putting money in the meter.
If we fail to nip these problems in the bud, who knows what sort of mayhem and anarchy may result.
PS: I'm hoping that use of a cell phone while driving becomes illegal, too.
taco was laughing about you, specifically, (regarding the truncation of your user name) when he gave the talk at MIT recently.

Because they learned from the "Carnivore" fiasco that the public tends to take names at face value.
If Carnivore had been named "Furry Kittens" or
"Serve & Protect" or
"Santas little helper"
there would have been a lot less fuss about it.
Certain past political leaders had this down pat, using phrases such as "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."*
Sounds much better than "If you are not with us, you are against us" and shipping the guy off to the uranium mine...
