I agree with the other posts about the iPhone. I have Readdle and Files and while both do smaller pdf's adequately (not great, just adequate), there is nothing I have found that does 80MB pdf's without crashing.
If anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it... because I could surely use one.
Is it just me, or does the phrase "During its brief burst, Guo's laser unleashes as much power as the entire grid of North America onto a spot the size of a needle point" seem a little inefficient for making a single light bulb?
I have a question. Why does Slashdot constantly side with PirateBay? You are aware that they were running a major piracy ring, right? That they were providing the torrent trackers that facilitated the distribution of copyrighted materials?
You sir are a troll, and you are completely ignorant if you believe this! The true crux of the case is the fact they have done nothing illegal. Sure, maybe American law says they have (incorrectly), but in their country everything they have done is 100% legal *WHETHER OR NOT YOU LIKE IT, OR WHETHER YOU DEFINE IT AS 'PIRACY'*.
TFA is directly addressing the fact that the Judges have been removed because they are a part of the organization who wants TPB prosecuted-- in itself a conflict of interest at best, at worst illegal.
We need to remember that despite the way America and the European Union would like it to pan out, we do not have the authority to force other autonomous countries to abide by our own interpretations of OUR OWN laws; and even if we did, I would hope to god that it would be over something more important than shared mp3's and movies... say how about prosecuting war crimes on behalf of the Bush/Cheney administration? Surely taking a few-hundred-thousand lives is illegal too?
So it really took this long for other countries to rise up against DCMA/ RIAA/ MPAA organizations trying to essentially rule the world via their crappy media?
Well, I think it's only appropriate to reserve judgement to see if they actually follow-through on their 'backlash'.
If so, I applaud those countries. No stupid movie, song, or video game is worth violating another countries sovereignty over. In fact, I would go as far as to say the suggestion of that is absurd.... and yet that is the model of this century thus far.
Let's see if Sweden gets its head out of its subservient ass, since it is currently in the midst of giving the American lead DCMA a virtual hand-job.
Those of us who do not live in New Zealand can easily (or relatively) file motions to have lawyers, judges, politicians families etc, cut off due to our claims that they have downloaded copyrighted material.
Since we don't live in New Zealand, even 'if' we are incorrect and they didn't... they have no recourse. However, the families of New Zealand politicians et al are just as 'guilty' as the next person-- we all know that, just as their kids do.
The only question will be how to find their IP addresses... but it will be a hop, skip, and a jump before NOBODY in NZ has internet... how do you think the internet providers (and the population) will feel about the law then?
Yes, it's true we web-designers can (and generally) do use simple code editors to write our pages, templates and CSS stylesheets; the fact is that there is an ever-growing population of people who want to make their own website, not just pre-compiled garbage templates that Drupal users install- but real personal templates made by the site owners themselves... in order to do that they need a good editor that HELPS them- Dreamweaver does that.
Also, seriously, WTF does Drupal have to do with it? Sure, I'm not knocking Drupal I've used it on some projects, but it has nothing to do with the REAL tools required to do a job (mainly a brain, fingers, and motivation).
Windows + electronic eyes = true Blue Screens Of Death.
...or how about excuses for the wife: "aw, sheesh honey, I'd love to take out the garbage, but they just released a 'critical update' for my eyes, and I need to reboot them"
...'you mean that wasn't your boobs I grabbed?? Damn eyes must be malfunctioning again"
I like the fact that Netflix is actually on-par with the current technology, unlike RIAA and MPAA et al (oh yeah.. and Microsoft)., but to pair itself with a closed-source POS like Silverlight is just 100% bad karma.
There is no reason for them to have done it, other than Microsoft infusing Netflix with cash to prop up Silverlight, to make it seem like it needs to exist.
I'm sorry but even the vaguest notion of a Microsoft store reeks of bona-fide grade-A concern over the success of the Apple stores.
Microsoft should certainly worry about Linux distros as well, but the bottom line is that Microsoft is struggling to regain legitimacy after its failed ventures as of late, and the competition (both Linux and Macintosh) are quickly filling the void with their products.
the US military is already onto the idea of another version of the internet. Perhaps, like most military technology, on some level this will be incorporated to our existing infrastructure.... my 2 cents
I don't see how monitoring assumes all users are criminals. Do police speed traps assume all drivers are speeders?
Duh... yes! That's why you even get the old-farts who are already going 10mph below the speed-limit slamming on their brakes when they see a speed-trap... and hence the friggin name 'SPEED TRAP'...
Does it REALLY need to be more than one, or two versions? Absolutely not.
It would make more sense to have a version that 99% of the people would end up wanting (ie. the household user), then either selling a version with weird features the household population will never use. Or even better make those odd features free-plug-ins, or hell charge for them.... but 7 versions is really just poor management decision and marketing.
The old RIAA tactics didn't thwart downloading one iota, so it's hard to believe them 'dropping the lawsuits' will have much, if any, impact on the scenario.
The fact is The record companies that the RIAA represents, put out pretty crappy generic music. It's formulaic, and meant to sell - not be innovative or good.
The 'Indie' record industry has taken the place of most big record labels, by providing music that is more in line with what the artist wants to produce. The music is better, more creative, different, and quite honestly - what people prefer to hear.
criminalize the lord of the dance.
This is crap. Seriously, has anyone here ACTUALLY had a CDR not work unless it was scratched to hell and back?
Seriously....
pwnage will be ars.

How generous, Microsoft enlists people to test their next OS, and instead of being rewarded those poor souls get screwed.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Microsoft is trying to get its cake and eat it too.
Microsoft has a mobile app store?

All you base are belong to us!!
Ever wanted to blow up the **** out of terrorists?
There is an app for that.
Friggin hilarious! Thank you.
Ok, so what is surprising about this? Microsoft had an active hand in ousting the Yahoo CEO, and a 'partnership' is news?
It's more like the Borg.... 'you WILL be assimilated, resistance is futile.'

does this Heide Iravani pretty much sleep with anybody in order to get to the top? If so, I would like to interview her...
Is it a 'mega' boost, or a 'super-energy' boost?
We got 'em all at the 'Frosty Shack'.
I am totally lame to be reading about this on a Friday night. .... rolls dice...... score!!

Ok, seriously, the FDA is using material research from China? Whatever happened to the US doing it's own research?
Say, I wonder if the FDA has contracted human cancer trials in Darfur.
Seriously, human rights anyone?
*shakes head*
7 different versions? OMFG
