Real-time crime maps have already been done by the guys at rancidbacon.com. So you can see a near real-time Seattle crime map.
Well, the crime reporting, not the crime as it's taking place
The question wasn't how to patch Safari, the question was whether the patches would get back to khtml, and since they're on the blog, the question is answered.
Here's a PDF of the amendment, as agreed, from the house.gov page on the session yesterday.
Realistically, if it'll make that big of an impact, why not make Daylight Savings Time a year-round proposal? If this amendment is passed by the House, we will have a period of a little over 3 months annually (Dec, Jan, Feb) in which DST is not in effect. That seems ridiculous.
Not to mention that if DST becomes year-round, the change in software becomes a static offset to GMT as opposed to figuring out when the annual switch days are. Even Windows allows you to set a time zone that ignores DST, so a company in permanent CDT would only need set their time zone to EST and not worry about changing the clocks again.
You didn't read the article, did you?
"And by 2008, most Americans who visit Canada won't be able to re-enter their country without a passport."
You sure *will* need a passport to come home. I don't know what will happen if you don't have it, but you can bet it won't be pleasant or speedy.
You do realize the NFL network was spawned by ESPN, right? Rich Eisen, one of the mainstays, is/was an ESPN anchor, and just made a switch.
It's the same way nba.com is run by ESPN.
The ISP I work for has a system that each customer can sign up for, whereby any attachment over a certain size (default 4MB) gets put in a quarantine area for them to download at a later time. The customer also then gets an email about the large mail so they know one's waiting for them. It's a custom in-house system, though.
NCDesign has a good list for NN/IE at http://www.ncdesign.org/html/list.htm which will tell you, by tag and by attribute, which versions of those browsers have the support within them.
Amusingly, you're right:
The default *is* Ctrl-Alt-Del-T.
And here I thought you were being sarcastic:-)
The trick is that apparently there's a password, too.
Candid Camera recently did a skit where they did the "disposable phone"... it was a regular phone that they claimed you got 10 2-minute phone calls on, and could receive incoming calls, for $15. Out of the 5-10 people that looked at it, only one person was actually stupid enough to go for it.
Snake oil, I tell you. Who would really want one of these?
There are other form factors, such as NTX, that one could build a small computer from. The major problem lies in mass-produced small footprint cases; these can be difficult to come by.
Someone pointed me to this cheap chassis at GoogleGear. It might be worth looking in to.
Who allied with Iraq to fight against the United States?
Words are one thing. Actions are another.
Not to mention that Thawte was based in South Africa long before Verisign bought them out. (archive.org from 6 years ago)
Why even go with a new acronym?
.wap (9-2-7)
.pda (7-3-2)
Everyone else defines a protocol. But apparently Google defines protocools.
I guess the rest of the world has a long way to go to catch up...
Crapflood. They happen. The trolls are fishing again...

The hearing is set for Tuesday, May 3rd, which allows four whole days for Apple to sell Tiger.

Because, as we all know, passports are never forged. Ever.
I don't see how we are more "protected" than the current system.
Slashdot proposes ending dupes Yet another proposal that won't go anywhere.
Should the robots push or shove down the stairs?
Now I just need some del.icio.us bookmarks to go with that!

You couldn't ASK for a better article title than that if you were a slashdot troll...
