Buying gold in online games allows the buyer to bring a gun to a knife fight so to speak. I have friends who do buy money in online games (Guild wars specifically), however guild wars is a highly skill based game and even with the best equipment it is possible to lose to someone who knows how to play the game better. Also he does have a full time job - he earns his money (real life money) which enables him to buy money in game, it's much better for him to work 8 hours a day earn ~$100 then spend $10 on money that would have taken him much more time to farm. It's common sense for the people who are able to do this with reason.

    From TFA:

It's important to note that the gallium doesn't react, so it doesn't get used up and can be recycled over and over again.

However, the cost of aluminum could be reduced by recycling it from the alumina(aluminum oxide) using a process called fused salt electrolysis. I realize this is slashdot, however, you still make yourself look like an ass if you post something that is answered in TFA. Please do us a favor and read it, instead of being lazy. Oh, we don't capitalize the names of elements, thanks.

30 seconds at $20/h can add up. 30 seconds is about 0.83% of a hour or $0.166/h (at $20/h) which amounts to 16.6 cents every hour (assuming the person is required to turn off a light once a day). A building with 500 employees would be caught paying the 500 employees $83 total for their time turning off the lights, that's just in a single day. [/idiot]

Similar thing in one of the classrooms in my high school, oddly enough it's only the one classroom. It has no lightswitch and is has a motion sensor. Every time we had a test the lights would go off because of the lack of movement, someone had to get up and walk infront of the sensor to get them back on.

And an end of Moore's Law will not only slow GHz increases, but also will slow the adoption of larger numbers of cores, because without shrinking transistors the only way to increase number of cores is by having a larger die size, which is more expensive and requires larger chip size, which requires larger system board size, which requires larger case size, which consumers don't like. Back in my day our computers filled entire rooms and we liked it!
