You can 'do' SMTP whereever you want, you're just 'filtered', and in some strange unexplained cases your mail goes to dev/null.
Most ISP's are running 'content filtering' software that provide this simple yet 'censoring' ability.
I'm for ridding the world of spam, but ppl have to stop buying from spam. That's the only solution that will work. Take the profit out of it.
Keyword filtering seems like something I'd want to do locally for sorting and prioritizing, not something I would want my ISP doing on my behalf without disclosure.
Real question is, when will this bad behavior spread from 25?
As a hardcore gamer I too am not going to get involved with Vista and DX10. I've tried it and for all DX10's panache, it's still too slow and doggy to be considered for a real gaming system IMHO.
So preparing for the inevitable, I did something I've never done before...I bought a Sony product. Yes, a PS3. Later I'll get a Wii, and then I'll slowly wien myself to those plateforms once my DX9 XP platform fades into playing remakes of majong and solitaire (if it can still handle the min. requirements of course).
Well software and hardware bundling really shows how old you are;)
Nowadays you get an OS that has numerous programming languages inclusive. Oh, you were talking about Windows stuff. Well if you use Windows, you can afford a IDE seat or two.
Yeah, well, your eyes clearly belong to a Terminator, because the rest of the world considers Diane Lane hot.
I remember some nitwit on Usenet once called Julia Roberts "ugly". There was a big argument over whether he was justified in holding the opinion. I pointed out that anybody who calls Roberts "ugly" clearly is so far out of the mainstream cultural opinion that his opinion was worthless. You can complain about Julia's wide mouth, or whatever, or just not like her looks (I don't like Reese Witherspoon, Chloe Sevigny and some other actresses because of specific features), but calling her "ugly" is just stupid. There are generally accepted criteria for attractiveness and Roberts didn't become the lead in a movie called "Pretty Woman" because she is "ugly."
Wow, you must be 1 of 0 from the borg collective.
Let me explain this so you understand then Mr. "assimilated opinion".
Those of "us" that still resist the borg, also understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
You should however do better research and not rely on 'assimilated' knowledge. Perhaps you should try to persuade us all with your geekdom rather than your celebrity hijinks.
Now go watch entertainment tonight and leave the/. for those of us with a real opinion not just one assimilated from too much celeb-tv exposure.
As much as I don't admonish the subject line (I'm biased for women of any nationality) the OP was correct, if not a bit rude, to state that American's did not invent these things.
America's contribution was mostly in assembly and manufacture (sounds like US-China today....something to consider from a historical perspective) as Henry Ford was so well recognized for.
I could go on with the other examples, but I think I've got enough cannon fodder for you folks. The Internet I have to give to the US however since ARPA funded it, and Gore commercialized it. However we can still see the problems with such a singular approach to its development.;)
Enjoy!
I can attest to doing more than 20 ME installs back in the day, and I don't really think you have a relative clue to compare the two products.
Vista is LOADS of junk above ME...
You clearly do not understand the difference between vulnerabilities and exploits.
Local vulnerabilities are worthless to a non-local attacker, but exploits are. Especially since MANY remote vulnerabilites are still in 0-day status. (I'd suggest the AC go to wikipedia to brush up on the terminology since they seem pretty clueless.
No, your totally incorrect. YouTube does NOT make money from the Video. It makes money directing traffic.
IF Youtube was SELLING ACCESS to the video, then you could make that statement.
It is the southern most Atlantic coastal part of Canada though, right (launching to the east is even more important - it's the reason you want to be near the equator after all)
The parts of Canada that are further south would involve launching over the US.
Or do they have some colonies near the equator to turn into space ports? Oh common, mod parent funny
After the war of 1812 we stole, er liberated rather a bunch of colonies from the US and renamed them into real countries, but I'm sure we could send our vast navy over to one or two to build a spaceport.
A former colony having it's own colonies...is that like co-colonization;0
No we are getting all confused. In the old days you used to write out 12 checks one for each month for rent or mortgage payments prior to the days of electronic transfers and inter-bank transactions.
I don't think I was fooling anyone about having that much money in my account when I wrote those checks, and I'm sure no judge or jury would ever convict anyone based on such a requirement.
But yes, if you write a check to be cashed without the funds could be construed as a criminal act. But this requires a little more than just the acts of 'writing a check' and 'accepting a check'. Fraud or something else must be shown. For instance if you write several checks to several parties when it is quite obvious you do not have the funds could be deemed such a fraud.
Typically the reason for post dating a check is to fulfill a contractual requirement without having to provide the payment at the outlined time. A post dated check just ensures the payment is available at that time. Post dating a check with the intend to deceive the payee (person receiving payment) is illegal. If you go to a retail store to buy goods and pay with a post dated item.
Very likely you'll get nothing more than a bad reference from your bank and maybe a stain on your credit in the worst case, unless you are habitually passing bad checks, which is again a much different issue than passing post-dated items.
Seriously, this is not an option. The reason we have so many different distributions of linux is because these parties all tried compiling all the code, and dealt with the issues at building machines to achieve certain goals. There is a great deal of manpower on these attempts and frankly I don't think one person could reproduce this reliably. Sure you 'could', but would you?
This means that it's much more practical (and realistic) that most people are downloading full distributions. Of course they can still get the source and view it, but what if it's written in a language you don't understand? What if you don't understand the programmers methods? Sure, a google here and a google there, and you get your answers, but likely someone building the distro had a similiar situation and worked it out. When you DIY OS you will have to figure out all these 'bugs' again. Seems like a waste of time to me.
But even now it's quite obvious that most users will not compile their OS's. This is unrealistic, even for the paranoid. Of course some have taken the approach of a secure trusted platform, but again I'm looking at a distribution. Even if one person figures out a unique method to do the same, what are the odds that it will remain a secret?
So, is it really a practical reality that one person can 'compile' a modern linux OS? No. So you need to get help. Even TWO people means that trust needs to be established if the project is to move forward. This means a trust relationship has to be established. Now, the paranoid is freaked out again since there is a 'possibility'. I really feel for the paranoid, it's gotta be rough.
Today's computing is unfortunate in some ways, but we have to trust other's code and typically without any prior examination.
Google bought the usenet repository and now maintains it indefinitely. It's called Google groups now.
I don't think this applies to binaries.
But, usenet.com and many USENET access providers DO keep many newsgroups even binaries for a long time.
Actually this is the main reason to switch to digital, since compression methods can be used with digital broadcasts you can broadcast more with less spectrum, hence they can now sell off all that excess spectrum (which they are already doing with other analog systems that are moving to different technologies.).
Well don't blame Windows for this. Studies show that linux servers are a bigger fish for these targets for many obvious reasons. Scale, bandwidth, sysadmins thinking their servers are rock hard, etc.
Too late.
One of the greatest estate sales occured during the time from when Commodore closed it's doors til it was acquired by it's current owner.
Most of the really good assets were pilfered off, and a lot of that technology is now in cable boxes and other such devices, probably some Amiga IP in the iPod even.
Besides all the great games (that were developed on or for the amiga) are now coming out on a cell phone carrier near you.
Well...
If they are taking pictures for the 'public' to keep up on the ongoings, where are the pictures?
Or is this some way for these satellite image companies to advertise the service?
Thus far these are the only two reasons to buy vista, and even then, probably not for another year, and then as a secondary boot to linux... Fixed your statement...Halo 3 is XBox 360 only.

Hmm this could get all the gold farmers/sellers a new occupation: Selling to NASA and they pay premium!
Not quite,
;)
These are photo display devices you can buy at your favorite retailer to load a memory card or usb device to display your digital pictures on.
I'm sure you could peruse your pr0n collection on one, but don't take it to work
As much as I don't admonish the subject line (I'm biased for women of any nationality) the OP was correct, if not a bit rude, to state that American's did not invent these things.

Actually anyone can cancel usenet posts, but I'm not going any further down that road...
Google bought the usenet repository and now maintains it indefinitely. It's called Google groups now. I don't think this applies to binaries. But, usenet.com and many USENET access providers DO keep many newsgroups even binaries for a long time.
