  2. Read the Federalist papers, where the framers provided insight on why the constitution representstionwas formulated. It was in the last century when Senate seat were voted for. Previously state governments. Generally the governor appointed senators. This was to assure the protection and sovereignty of the states. Interesting an insightful reading.

    The first link was to a Goddard press conference. The next four links were to the list of all publications that Goddard published in each of the last 4 years. The last link was to the Berkley site pointing to no papers because the link was to their home page. So if you want me to spend days trawling through documents because you decided to send me on a snipe hunt (google it). No not me, I'm stopping here.

  5. As I said in a previous post, I only accept data presented in peer-reviewed papers. Even some NASA data has not been reviewed. I wonder also how many of these scientists are climatologists and of the climatologists what percentage are dependant on government grants.

    First I will state that I have not looked at the data. I caution others to make sure that they reference peer-reviewed studies before making claims. It is very difficult to hypothesis climate change since the earth continuously goes through climatic cycles. So 1 or 2 seasons of fires in California do not represent an irreversible trend. There are other factors affecting the fires in California that will be identified once a root cause forensic review has been completed.

  9. The problem is real, unfortunately the politicians are way behind. The good news there will be jobs. The bad news very few policy makers have a clue. The start is a change in education toward a European model of free education with 2 tracks one toward university and primarily sciences and the other technical/vocational with an optional extension beyond HS. This also enables easier changes to core curriculums.

    Unless I mis understood you r question my answer is not to give you admin rights into production systems... Access is a major audit red flag under division of responsibilities.. System in should be able to provide metrics and performance data to enable you to carry out your responsibilities. If you need hands on get access to test systems.

    This is the IT world we work in. Projects complete, de-scope and sometimes cancel. Companies are moving more work to contractors both on shore, high level skills, and off shore, commodity skills. Normal application management and infrastructure is more easily moved to lower cost off shore. Workers in our industry for the most part are adapting to this model.

    Brick and mortar will morph into hoteling space and virtual office space. With today's technology collaboration, productivity, and business performance are easily fostered and managed. Hoteling affords temporary space when in office time is necessary. Hopefully, soon brick and mortar will go the way of snail mail.

    I assume that a benevolent dictator is the right solution to our failed democracy. Grow up! The founding fathers were so distrustful of a strong central government that they put safeguards in place to protect us. However over the almost 2 1/2 centuries, we've managed to screw it up. People must accept compromise.

    I went to Charlie's blog and read the entire atricle, including the comments. I found the entire discussion very insightful. In particlar, the discussion concerning the bandwidth decisions made by the cellcos and the push that Google and Apple are havaing on the market. I don't like the Google scenario. I am adverse to the depth and breadth of all the places that their tentacles are occupying. On the political front, the US government wants to extend high bandwidth to all the masses. This has the potential to fund the new technology that will support bandwidth needs of the mobile devices, but I doubt ti.

    Telstra is the Australian monopoly that provides the backbone for their internet. Is O'bama proposing a monopoly? NO! He intends to nationalize our telecom infrastructure? Maybe. These thoughts would have seemed outrageous a year ago but do not seem extreme with the O'Bamaists in power. Think of the control of media and commerce the government would have.
