IIRC, the iPhone is only available on plans with unlimited data, so data cost isn't an issue. Opera Mini is a great piece of software, it's generally a better browsing experience on EDGE/GPRS than a lot of high-end 3G smartphones.

There are hundreds of phones that basically just make phone calls. And there are plenty of phones that can do most of the fancy stuff, but are still small, simple and easy to use (like my Nokia 6300). If I want a new ringtone I just bluetooth the mp3/4 across. I can't believe that *all* those phones aren't available in the US.
I would guess that a large part of that 30 years is due to his behaviour after being charged, breaking court orders often carries a greater sentence than the original crime IIRC.
I'm a huge Futurama fan, but even I wouldn't compare it to the Simpsons - the earlier seasons of the Simpsons which caused it to "take off" are in a completely different comedy league from Futurama.
Futurama had its moments, but there's too much dead space between jokes for it to be as funny as the Simpsons.
He mentions the fact that it's only CRT monitors in the article, I guess even a short blog entry is too long to read these days.
Why do these stories get reported so much? I see them all the time, I think the media just thinks "oo, big numbers, that'll impress people". From 5 minutes of googling, nergy consumption in the US alone is something like 10e19J/year. 750MwHrs is ~3e12J, barely even a rounding error. Why not report on real energy savings?
(hope the maths is right, it's early here still)
This is getting way off topic, but the roads were truly terrible when I was driving around Connecticut and New York compared to back home (UK): poorly laid out, noisy road surface and full of potholes.
Wouldn't the ability to detect low-level electromagnetic radiation qualify for winning the James Randi prize for displaying paranormal powers? Why isn't one of these 'sensitives' a millionaire?
Isn't it quite hard to sue for doing something that's illegal? Texting while drivig presumably counts as driving without due care and attention.
Using a mobile while driving is even a specific offence in some countries.
will we ever again need a strategy guide to complete a Zelda game?
Why would anyone want a game that requires a strategy guide to complete? That's normally a sign that the game has failed for me.
One problem is that the Wii can't really tell how far away from the bar you are. All it can see is the two IR LEDS. When you move further away, they get closer together. But they also get closer together when you move left or right, as the angle of the bar relative to the wiimote changes.
The Wiimote is accurate enough. The problem is that the Wiimote has no idea where your TV is. You can calibrate it for one combination of Wiimote and sensor bar position - "This position is the edge of the TV" - but then if you move it will be wrong. There are too many unknowns for the Wii to be able to solve the equations.
Personally I don't care, it's not like you need to use sights anyway: I've seen lots of people hit nearly every target in the Wii play shooting game.
Probably another misprint. The copy of the 2007 documentation I have has loads of them: tables printed off the edge of the page, incorrect examples etc. It looks like a document prepared carelessly in a hurry.
Except that quality for a games console is defined by the game that get released for it: if a console doesn't sell well, then the developers won't develop so many games for it, making it a worse console.
The pointing interface works great on the Wii IMHO - sniping Elebits from long distance was very easy. You just have to get used to the idea that it doesn't work like a light gun. It even works well in Heatseeker, although the game itself wasn't that good.
I don't think you can expel all the air out of your lungs, there's a minimum volume they can contract to.

You can just drag the folder to the terminal to copy the pathname to it, or drag the folder icon on the title bar of the finder window.
You can upgrade the iMacs to 750Gb from the Apple store, although it is kind of pricey.

I still use my a lot: Mario Strikers, Elebits, Excite Truck, SSX Blur

Don't forget to subtract VAT - the actual price of the PS3 is £340 (£400 minus VAT).
This isn't a downgrade, it's just reducing the physical size of the chips. Performance will be identical.

You're grateful to Microsoft for selling you an unreliable console that breaks after a year and a half? Are you stupid?
Countries with socialised health care generally also have private systems as well, for those that can afford it.
Or about £1750 per year per person, or £3500 per taxpayer. How does that compare to health insurance costs in the US?
There are so many failing 360s in the UK, apparently MS is having to ship 1,500-2,500 a day to a repair centre in Prague: http://www.360-gamer.com/news.asp?id=1143

Maybe report the BBC to Watchdog for dodgy business practices ;-):
