Developing the ability to metabolize a protein only meets the requirements of very a very specific definition of biological evolution, which is simply "The change in the genetic composition of a population over successive generations."

That test however does absolutely nothing to justify, nor prove, the broader definition of the theory of evolution, that all creatures "evolved" from one form of life.

Looking back over the tests involving mutations among fruit flies and now the more recent tests involving the bacteria, E Coli if I'm not mistaken, what is clear is one thing. Mutations in nature and a laboratory do not change the underlying fact it is still the same form of life as it was before, just with different traits.

Biological Evolution has been proven, but the Theory of Evolution has yet to have any concrete scientific proof, hence why it is described as a theory.

VTEC stands for Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control. It allows the engine to adjust the valve timing in real time to provide additional power at higher RPMs. It essentially allows low displacement engines to expand their powerband at very high RPMs.

It does absolutely nothing for ride quality and can be employed at any road speed, provided the transmission allows the engine to operate within the RPM required for VTEC to operate.
