Yup, the mayor has been indicted... that gives you a hint. A person I knew's apt. was completely wiped clean. Couches, TVs, laptops, jewelry, papers, hair gel, EVERYTHING stolen. They knew that person's routine and did it all while that person was at work. Renter's insurance only covered 1/10th of what was taken

Ugh, commercial alarm companies are scammers. I get a new house, and guess what? Every sensor from EVERY window and door is conveniently removed so I have to sign up for some shitty contract. I'm guessing the previous owners had theirs "disconnected" at some point which involved removing the sensors. That, and the fact that ADT fills my mail with ads and warnings that I'm about to get robbed and crap like that.

  7. Multiple Choice on Have Mathematics Exams Become Easier? · · Score: 1

Well, my US university insists on making the math exams all multiple choice--to make grading easier, I presume. However, they convolute the problems so much, and require you to "add both solutions, if any, together after multiplying them by the phase of the moon on July 18th, 1993, and divide by 2.5503342134 to get the answer," or something similar that it makes it extremely annoying. Good thing I'm done with my math requirements.

  8. Interesting on Fasting May Fix Jet Lag · · Score: 2, Interesting

What a coincidence, I'm "suffering" from jet lag right now. I just got back (to the US) from Europe 2 days ago and am having the worst jet lag ever. This is weird because it's usually when I'm going in the other direction I suffer the worst. Anyway, if I eat I tend to want to "nap" right afterwards and then I end up sleeping in the middle of the day for 8 hours. Not eating seems to keep me awake, with my stomach threatening to eat itself.

One of the worst routers I have ever had. Also, right before I threw it out my window, it forgot it was a wireless router completely. I mean, it reset itself one last time and quit broadcasting completely. Even the setup pages lost the wireless part. I could manually enter in the wireless setup URL, and it would show one with random values in each field.

I'm just waiting for a nice cooler day to take it to the shooting range. The manual traps and some shotgun pellets might make up for all my anguish.

Just a wee bit preemptive. I think everyone should start making maps of famous places, schools, office buildings, cities, etc. Let's see how many people they think they can arrest under... what law?
